I had the same issue. My balance was paid in full and a month later they start calling me telling me that i owed money and had late fees. I was getting charged for an alleged service (credit fraud protection add on)  that i did not request and refused to pay the fees. The man told me to just pay and it would be settled. Like hell im going to give my money away for something that i didnt ask for and didnt use. It has been a huge mess and they are still calling me. I told them i would fight it and write to the credit bureaus but would NOT pay one of those stupid fees. I paid what i owed in full and they will not get one penny more from me!

It is against Federal law for a debt collector to make threats that they do not intend to act on. Please save any voice messages where they talk about recourse against you. It is also illegal for them to tell you they will sue you if you do not pay and then not sue. If you go to www.ftc.gov and look under Consumer protection - Credit laws to learn about your rights. A debt collector can be fined $500 (paid to the consumer) for any offense of the FTC's collection laws.

I got a call from these people too. First though they sent correspondence saying my payments to Fashion Bug were considered a 'bad debt' and they were going to contact their attorneys in order to collect this. I have not received any contact from these guys for months prior to this notice. I called the number and the agent started to grill me about this. I explained my story that since a injury I had last year that left me unable to work as often or get any compensation for that since then, since it wasnt a work injury. She then apparently looked at my credit report to say that I paid my electric and gas bills... which doesn't have relevance and I told her that both me and my boyfriend are struggling to even get by now, with my recent job loss. She then started her rude talk back and said that I should get myself out of this pickle. I told her that I could give her what's left of my bank account cash (40 dollars) and she said it wouldn't do anything and then 'put on record' that I 'refused' to make a payment and that they will seek more legal action. This has left me scared and infuriated at this situation with World Financial. Now I know to never get any credit card from a store again. I just want to pay this debt off eventually without these people threatening me.

You do realize that you can sue for this?  By law they have to disclose to you who they are and from what company they represent.  I fought a case like this and won it no problem.

Call a consumer credit attorney...this is harrassment.

If you are actually filing for bankruptcy you give these people the name and the phone # to your attorney handling the bankruptcy.  If they continue you call them you sue their [***] off.  By law they cannot continue to call you once you have an attorney.

These people Call 10 times a day, i dont answer at all.. They haven't gotten nasty with me but I am sure they will.But today they had me on panic mood, they called my home, mind you my mother doesn't speak much english, yet my brother does. They tell him, If i am home, and he says no. So they tell him, to let her know that Detective Cook, is calling and my brother asked is  something wrong  and he goes it's known of your business, unless you are the person we are calling for. SO he hung up!! those [***]..... Reading these comments makes me want to prank call them back and say i work for the fdcpa, and to ***k off

I am on a payment plan with Victoria Secret; they are calling me now and telling me
I'm not elgible for a payment plan.  too bad, leave me alone.  I ignore all calls....
will pay it off eventually.  Don't make an agreement with me, then change your mind.  It doesn' work
like that.

I reported this number to the police.  They said do not give them a thing and block the number.  They are scam artist and there are numerous complaints about these people.

They have called my house probably 10 or more times a day.  They are abusive, harassing, rude and argumentive with me about my daughters debt with the buckle.  They call and call and call.  The person they are looking for does not even live at my address anymore and I have asked them to quit calling and they wont.  They start calling early in the morning and continue until  9 o'clock at night.  I have continued to ask them to quit calling and they do not.  They state they know about fair collections act and practices but continue to harrass when they have been told not too.

After reading all these post I no longer feel bad. These people are a handful and something needs to be done about the matter. Their calls start at 8:08a.m. and does not cease until around 8:45 p.m. Not to mention if you do not answer their call they will begin to call you right back. The company is a rip off anyway because I made a big payment and got my balance down to close to $200 dollars. Now all of a sudden my balance has reached $700 from late fees and interest. I will be so glad when I am blessed to pay them off. I have learned my lesson early that Department Store Credit Cards are not the answer. My account is with Victoria Secrets.

They called me about a debit and I don't even have credit card or debit card.  I told them that and they said u still have to pay.. I told them tell that to my lawyer and they hung up

I've Been receiving numerous phone calls a day from this number the caller id says OH, USA; however they never leave a voice mail. Today, a woman named "agent" something left me a message threatening to take further action if I or my attorney did not call back today. She did not mention where she was calling from or what this message was regarding.

this same thing happened to me today @ 8 o'clock in the morning. After I told the guy that he had the wrong number he asked since when, like I was lying to him. I asked him y he needed to know how kong I've had my number, he informed me that someone had recently used my number for aomehting, but never said what.  he then tells me that he will continue to call since I wouldn't give him n e info.  after he rudely hung up on me,  called the company back n he answered and after I assked for his super he hung up on me again.  they really need to get some real help for the people that work for this company.

This company is looking for my daughter who doesn't live here. She has not lived here in 6 years. I am a very sick man and this is disturbing me. We are listed on DO NOT CALL> I have had nothing to do with the company you are trying to collect for. LEAVE ME ALONE.

I'm getting calls from this number; always two in a row, usually a few days apart.  There's a recorded message that doesn't stay playing until I say something (nice sound-triggered device there) and then someone asking for Julie.  They never identify if they're calling from a particular company.
