Claimed to be GE Security Systems.  The guy called me by my name.  I asked who was calling.  He said "Brad" from "GE Security Systems.  He  wanted to know about my security system.  I asked "Brad" to clarify the company and he said it was GE like in General Electric.  I asked him how he knew about my "security system."  He got all wierd and hung up.

In checking, I found out that GE sold off its security system division several years ago to UTC which is part of  UTC Fire & Security.  UYC's website is somewhat vague.  The phone number they called on is traced to Westerville, Ohio.  I get a lot of spam phone calls from Westerville.  The caller ID usually says OHIO CALL.

I wish the State of Ohio would step up and do something about these calls which are increasing at a steady pace.  Registering these numbers to the Federal DNC website does little or nothing at all.  By the time the FCC cuts them off, these creatures have an entirely new set of spoofed numbers.  And on it goes.  Who pays these creeps to sit in front of phones and try to pry into peoples' lives?

Called had a strong foreign accent and said he represented ADT and that he could upgrade my system.  Then asked if I was paying "approximately $40/mo."  Told him I was uncomfortable talking with him and hung up.  Called ADT and reported that phone number to them - they said that they do NOT represent ADT and that they will be seeking a cease and desist order on them.

This is a SCAM, they said that they were buying out ADT. Ok, this is the first I've heard about this. She wanted my birthday to confirm, but don't you already have my information from ADT, no answer. She didn't know anything about regulations or the city I lived in. Called ADT and they confirmed its a SCAM!

i just got a call from these [***] and went ahead and set up an appointment for somebody at 7 a.m.  told them i would sign the contract then and only then.  that i was not comfortable giving out my personal information....so someone named may is going to have a really bad start to next monday.  so all set up fictitious appointments then when enough gas is wasted going to houses that they claim are monitored then maybe we will stop them from calling.

I have received several calls from this number.  The caller ID only shows the phone number and Columbus, OH.  If I do not recognize either the name or telephone number, I just don't answer the call.  The caller has never left a message on my phone.  About a year or so ago, before I started not answering unfamiliar names/numbers, I got a message about a security system.  I told them I already had one and to remove me from their call list.  They still obviously call, so I'm sure it is a scam.  I figure if it's important, they can leave a message then I have the option of calling back if I choose to do so.  If they don't, I assume it isn't important.

I just started receiving calls from this number today.  They've called four times today.  I did what I always do.  I never answer these calls.  When they hang up, I block the phone number.  It feels so good to hang up on them for a change!  Eventually, they get the message that no one here is going to talk to them and this phone number is not profitable.  Sooner or later they stop calling and I WIN! The best thing I can tell everyone is let your answering machine pick up all of your unrecognized calls.  If the call is legit, they will leave a message.  You have to have patience!

    Dear Internets,

I've also been seeing this number, 614-300-1307 on my caller ID and too attempted to call back but got no love.
Today they called and I answered.
I told the sales-hole that I had a crappy phone and needed to get a call back number from her.
Here's the number of the company that is calling y'all!
888-573-5445 and her name is Laura Stells.

This is, according to ADT, an actual alarm company attempting to wrest my monitoring business away from ADT.

I'm sure you'll all be polite when you inundate that number with hundreds of thousands of calls...

After I said hello and waited about 10 seconds for someone to come on the line, a woman named "Chris" (with a strong accent) called me by my name (Mrs J....) & asked me to confirm that we had had our ADT security system for at least 3 years.  I said Yes, we had.  She said that since we were a long-time customer, we would qualify for a lower monthly payment.  I started to say "No, thank you", but before I finished my sentence she hung up.

I initially was not going to post, but decided to after seeing that there are no new posts since May. I received a call from this number 614-300-1307 (Columbus, Ohio) at approx. 2:30pm. When I answered, the person on the other end did not say anything. They sat there for a few moments, then disconnected the call. Whoever this is, they are obviously still attempting to scam folks. People like this make me thankful I have a home security system & can shoot straight if necessary. Just wanted to make everyone aware that this person/people is still at it. Be careful!
