- LRodYes I am and they continue. I am just going to contact my attorney. Do you know if this a scan? I have been receiving many calls.
Thank you! - Aria| 1 replyGot two calls today from two different numbers that I found out went to Weltman Weinberg & Reis!! They were told the first time to stop calling my phone. Number 1, no one at my phone number knows anyone in Dublin,OH & 2, no one at my phone number has any debt!! I looked this place up, that’s how I know & for them to pass themselves off as a “law firm”, they are very shady about everything!!
They call and hang up when you say hello!! You call the number back & the 80 year old woman who answers the phone says, hello!! She does not even say any company name or anything!! You have to ask several times to find out who it actually is!!! Even when you look up the phone numbers, they don’t lead to any business, those numbers lead straight to scam phone call information!!!- Caller: Scam
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to AriaWhat does Dublin, Ohio have to do with this? Are they asking for someone who lives in that town?
- BigAYou will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two or more federal and state agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
List of State AG’s offices: https://800notes.com/faq/attorney-general - TexasThey call from 614-408-5779 as well. Both come up as Dublin, OH. I only answered the first and it was for my husband. I, after identifying myself as his wife, asked for a name, what the call was about and was going to ask for call back number when I was hung up on. We have no debt. I will say that the first call, the woman sounded professional. . .her tone afterward was nasty. The 2nd call when I saw was from Dublin, OH I just hung up and blocked the caller.
- Caller: Dublin, OH
- Becky W.I received a call from this number (a woman) and she asked for me by name, then asked me to confirm the last 4 of my social. I said I wasn’t comfortable sharing that info until she told me who they were. She said, “Thank you, have a nice day,” and hung up.
