These jackholes keep calling my cell multiple times a day. Called the number to be removed from the registry and number isn't in service.

Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.

Yes it is legal.  It is in poor taste and inconsiderate but as long as they follow the laws of the FDCPA and observe calling hours,  they can indeed call you.  They can Call you on Christmas day if they are of a mind to.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

If you can find out what company it is, then send them a cease & desist letter via certified or return receipt USPS mail. Follow the steps in what you need to know here:

I have told this number, they are calling the wrong person, so I've recorded myself telling them on the phone to cease and desist, hopefully getting the attention of Ohio's attorney general.  He has nothing else to do.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

These evil [***] work with other collection agencies to steal your money. Collectors buy your debt for pennies on the dollar. Since they can not sue you unless they have a physical office in your state, they turn to w.W.&reis who open offices in most states for the only purpose of filing law suits in collection cases.In my state they are required by law to hand serve you the court order telling you that you are being sued and when the court date is. They threw the papers on my porch when i was not at home. Luckily i saw them blowing across the yard when i got home otherwise they would have won by default because i did not show up in court the judge threw their case out because they could not prove they owned my debt and show what they paid for it. If you can, always deal with the original company that issued you the credit card. See if they will freeze the interest charges and then pay them what you can every month without missing a payment your balance will not go up if they stop the interest charge and you do not use the card to add more to it. As long as you are paying money on the card, they usually won't sell your account to the low life collectors who only care how they can wipe out your bank accounts and leave you penniless.

I keep getting calls from this number also. Usually at least once every other day. I even answered it once and did the deed of saying that the number didn't belong to me (just to get them off my ass) and yet they still continued to call after I did that. My mom looked up the number when I mentioned it and found that they are a law firm (collections) that is guilty of harassing people. Supposedly you can get $1500 from being harassed, but I am doing some research right now to verify. Will post more info for everyone if this is true.

Debt collectors

I live in Michigan and the location of this "THORN  IN MY SIDE" is 4.5 hour 281.2 miles from me. Looks like it might  be a nice little trip to speak with these people, confront them face to face. I am retired military and have all the time I want to make a scenic tour alongside Lake Erie to Brooklyn Heights , Ohio. Would like to leave Mr. Head a good old 101 st. AB knock,knock on his head!

These people called me at 6:44am! I was trying to file a complaint on CFPB website but they ask what I think a fair resolution should be. Any ideas?

weinber weltman 8008370603 They call and ask for a person and then ask if thats not you call us back.  The message is two minutes long and they call all day long.  I do not have to call you back to tell you that this person do not live here.  I filing a complaint with the states bar associations because this is not the practice of attorneys at all.

8008370603  They represent themselves as attorney at law and they are not.  The Bar association of Michigan do not recognize them.  They call asking for names that we do not recognize at all and leaving personal information about them and ask you to call them back if you do not recognize the names.  This is a company who is not legal.  Block them and do not call them.

You will most likely have to know the name of the attorney to find out if that person is registered in Michigan.  Company searches don't usually pull anything up.  However they are attorneys, and even so they must follow the law when collecting a debt.  They also must be registered in Michigan as a debt collector, but I can find no such registration under their company name.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

This company calls me every single day, trying to collect on my deceased mother's debts.  I have finally got them to stop, I think.  I hope so, anyway.  I had to tell 4 different people that my mother's been gone for over 8 months and that there was nothing in her estate to "get", so they might as well stop trying to collect.  Hoping they finally got the message, because the last person I spoke to today finally said they'd remove my number from the system.

Company calls for someone who does not live here and never did (I built the home on the property).  They have been calling for a year - I have called (they are difficult to reach when you want to tell them you are not this person as they ask in their recorded message) and told them no one lives here (and I don't know the person)!  They keep calling weekly sometimes daily.  I reported them to the FTC.

Never a message... Harassing.... unwanted caller... Do not know what they could want and why they keep calling.
