- Not dead yetReceived a call from this number in June and BLOCKED it. Then a form letter arrived in June addressed to my business (me) asking who is handling MY estate! Attorney said big SCAM - ignore them.
- Debt losersCalled to talk about debt mom had. The moment I knew it was a scam was when they needed me to call back and give them at least a 10 digit number they left, a social security number and date of death.
If they were for real they wouldn't need the social or date of death... On top of a sentence long number- Caller: Estate something
- Call type: Debt collector
- WowSame experience as some others except the woman, who left an almost unintelligible voice mail. Because she was speaking SO softly, was asking about Marilyn somebody or other. I don't know anyone named Marilyn.
- Wow againSame mumbledtpeg lady called my Mom's cell phone asking about Marilyn somebody. Couldn't understand one-quarter of what this soft talker said. BTW we still don't know who Marilyn is.
- p.tinkerUnwanted calls. Stop calling.

- CynthiaReceived a call originally showed on my phone as 614-729-1700 said they were from State Information Services regarding the affairs of my stepson who passed away four weeks ago. Left the number of 877-347-2484 ext. 168 his name was Devin. Did not call back because a search of both the above numbers resulted in this is a SCAM. They should be ashamed of themselves.

- AmyCalled me about someone I have never heard of - no idea how they got my number but I am sure it is a scam
- chrissy92355Also got a call from this number, I didn't answer, they left a message wanting to know who was handling my deceased mother in laws estate and finances. I sure won't call them back after reading all these posts.

- DianaI received a call on my cell phone last night asking if I handled the financial matters for my deceased ex-husband which was a surprise to me because I didn't know he was dead. I told them we had been divorced for over 20 years and I had no idea who was responsible for his affairs. I asked how they got my number and they said from public records. I realized this is a scam of some sort but it's frightening to know they can get my cell phone #. I don't even have a land line.
- Recent widowA man called saying he was from Estate Info Service regarding the recent passing of my husband. Refused to tell him who I was, told him he knew the name and address, to send anything in the mail.

- Sick and Tired ofputtingupwiththisshitIt's a SCAM. They call relatives of dead family members hoping to have the family member assume responsibility for any debts (which may have been paid off before death, already been paid by the estate, or dismissed by the court) the dead person may have had. ANY INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE (other than requesting they not contact you again) will encourage them to continue harassing you and your family members.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME to report them to the Office of the Ohio Attorney General at http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/About-AG/Contact/Report-A-Scam

- TerryMA woman, who said her name was LaVon Howard from Estate Information Services, called today 5/2/2016 @1:25 pm and left a message saying she is trying to reach the person handling my daughter's estate (she said my daughter's name, so I thought it was legit), I almost called her back because my daughter did pass away exactly two months ago today and I thought it was something to do with that, but then I decided to Google the number first and now I find out it is a scam, what lowlifes!! This is so crazy, they should not be allowed to do stuff like this. Thanks to everyone who posted about this, it really helped me.

- CWG40Another ghoulish collection agency trying to get money from the surviving relatives of a deceased person, where the deceased died without any assets and without an estate to probate.
This, despite the fact, that in most cases, the survivors of the deceased are not responsible for his or her debts .
If you are the survivor of a deceased person and you receive a call from this or similar groups, simply demand something in writing be sent you by US mail. E-mail no good. They refuse to do this, simply block and ignore the calls.
They will often say you are responsible, but of course in most cases you are not.
Sadly, many survivors do in fact pay the debts of the deceased to these collection companies.

- Richard PlummerThey say they are Estate Information services, but won't say exactly what they do. They press me for information on who is handling my late father's estate. I refuse to give them any information until they say what they want, and that ends the call. Now they are calling my in-laws fishing for information.
