I answered the phone and said Hello, then a recording came on about "This is your second and last chance to get your credit card interest rates lowered....."  .  Actually, I get this call frequently - about 20 calls so far.  So I pressed one to talk to an "agent".  I requested my number to be removed from their listing, but he hung up me quickly.  Very unprofessional.

I would NOT give out my CC numbers to these people! Beware!

Note;    We don't have any credit cards anymore. We paid them all off and cancelled them out.  When I Google this phone number it does NOT come up matched with a known business.

Hey guys we got the same problem and we live in Kentucky.  This one is just one of many and we are on the don't call list, as well.  Since the FTC and other powers can't or won't do anything have you tried just not answering the phone when it is a call you don't recognize?  You know your friends, family and work # and should have any other personal or business contacts available for reference so why do you all feel the need to subject yourself to harassment and frustration needlessly.  Don't you know who your creditors are?  If you are paying your bills then no one from these businesses would be calling unless it was important and if it is they will leave a message, otherwise, ignore unwanted calls.  If you have outstanding debt then you should be contacting your creditors to let them know your situation.  If a debt has been sold as someone mentioned earlier, your former creditor should be able to verify that this is the case.  If so, investigating the new company is your prerogative and what you choose to do thereafter.  File bankruptcy if you're in a really bad way, start over.  If you've ordered something online wouldn't you know about it?  If someone claims you have ordered something you know you didn't, then their phishing.  Don't give these jerks the opportunity to dupe you.  Sometimes just answering the phone is enough to start a buttload of trouble as some of your stories tell.  Please, never, never give out personal info to anyone you don't know or already have dealings with.  A former credit card company supposedly sold our debt to a third party and in our earnestness to take care of the debt we gave them info, including the bank we were dealing with.  They were able to access our accounts and took ALL the funds we had in the bank which came from unemployment, which is illegal.  We were forced to close our accounts and obtained a pre-paid card just so we wouldn't have to carry around cash.  It's your life, take responsibility for it, be cautious, not curious.

You said the card service scammers acted very unprofessionally? This statement leads me to believe you are not totally aware of the fact they are simply drug addicts, trying to rip off decent people by fooling them into giving them their credit card numbers. I would never expect an addicted criminal to act in a professional manner--that's why they have the job they do, as crooks--who else would hire them?

Sure!  Not the answering the phone would work...if they only called ONCE!  Unfortunately, it's NOT just once.  Plus, some people are ELDERLY.  Some people have little BABIES who NAP during the day, etc.  So it's NOT easy to "just ignore" it.

Thanks for the number for Lucre, LLC!!!!  I had received 2 calls within one hour, different numbers but same initial robocall message.  I called Lucre LLC at 616-980-4140, the woman who answered asked my name when I asked for Steve, then asked what it was about - and then took my number and the first number that called, said it would stop in 48 hours.  She thus admitted this is their number - though she said the other number (different area code) was not their number.

Now to make another FCC complaint.  I've made dozens, they never act in my opinion, I've also started writing my Congressman.  Deluge Congress with complaints about the FCC not doing its job (the administration will likely blame the sequester) and maybe then we can get action.  Things had slowed a bit, but appears to be getting back to 2 or more calls a day from these companies.

Love your suggestion.  I'm going to the hardware store.  Thank you.  I just received a call and waited for a human and then screamed in his ear.  Your idea is much better.

LMAO, I kept this dumb broad Nicole on the line for at least 15 minutes with a run around about credit cards, balances, and interest rates that I don't have any of because I live debt free. I could hear her get excited that her POS company she works for might get their hands on my personal information and debt payoff for he fictitious $130k in debt I told her I had. She finally got so frustrated that she asked why I pressed 1 for help when it seemed I didn't want their help and I told her it was my way of delaying them from calling  someone else and slowing their business down. Before I could mention what a fool she is, she hung up.
Called on my desk like at a big company so not a concern if they have the number, I enjoy the break in the day. :-)

These losers have been at it since late January, 2013. The morons only have about five numbers. 616-613-2079,  616-613-2100,  616-613-2126,  616-613-2220,  616-613-2797.  Very easy to block these. It's amazing, I have been blocking for months now and these morons just keep trying. They must be real desperate. That is what drug addiction does. Hee Hee Hee  LMFAO!

And if more people would do what yourself and I did, they would find the calls to their numbers would stop. The "card services" scammers don't want to have their time wasted on disruptive persons, while they could be ripping off someone else to get  money for their drug addictions.
