- S. Maxwell replies to Dr J| 2 repliesMe too, had a bogus Medical bill. Hospital billed insurance incorrectly, and well thier incompetence became my problem. Got a judgement against me to the tune of $2000. They levied my bank accounts etc. Now Im all for paying my bills, but Ive been unemployed, and now cant even feed my kids because they decide to take everything and I do mean everything that I have in my bank acct. Too boot I dont even have gas $ to get to work, so I can pay them...
I know alot of good honest attorneys, but these people are the ambulance chasers that give Attorneys everywhere a bad rep. - GinaHe is a so-called attorney who takes old medical debts and sues you. He is scum. No lower than scum. He is the crud of the earth. I don't know how this man lives with himself. We are claiming bankruptcy so he will not give a dime of the judgment he has against us.

- BB| 1 replyOK.. This guy isn't very nice, nor are his staff. He appears to be collecting medical debt, old and new and then helping to make sure you pay it. Honestly if I could have paid it to begin with I would have, but the amount of medical debt I've been blessed with is another story for another time...
My experience was getting sued, the at least did give an itemized list and it was valid as far as I could tell. When he sued I took the calls more seriously. I get enough calls from various places looking for bits and pieces of what I can't afford (silly stuff like food and the household bills come first, once I get extra to pay some off, it's inevitable that others go unpaid and get picked up by places...) ... so I talked to them. They weren't that rude to start with, set up an agreement to pay.
This is where I made my mistake, I didn't get anything from them in writing, was happy to not have it go any further (Garnishment) and settle on a set monthly amount. It was more than I was comfortable with, but I made it work for 8 months - at the 6 month mark Michele (the aforementioned rude one) called. She tried a few of the numbers we had listed with them, but I missed her calls and didn't call her back. Well, in the talks about paying them back she mentioned a re-evaluation after so many months.... that is why she called. She made very little effort, left no details in the calls and apparently a short while after I didn't return the call she got the paperwork rolling on garnishment. That special little paper came to work well after it was too late. I called her immediately only to be told that I was "in violation of our agreement" - our unwritten, unsigned, verbal agreement.
That was BS, they weren't getting enough money fast enough and looked for the first viable excuse.
My advice:
Talk to the court. If you're hearing from him, you'll likely be dealing with the 58th District in Holland. My experience with the staff there, while they do seem busy, is that they cared more than Lobbes does. They have been helpful.
I'd get payment set up through the court to start with. That way they (Lobbes) can't just jerk you around on a whim without warning you. The wench still grates on me when I asked why, if I was so unreachable and in such violation of our agreement they cashed 2 more checks from me, her reply "those were good faith payments" - good faith? Why should I have that when you don't....- Caller: Richard Lobbes

- Why would they call? replies to AnonymHi,
I received a phone call from these people today statingI had a outstanding bill from 1992, and 1995.
I called the hospital about these bills, they even looked in their archives. NO RECORD OF THEM> My bills are paid they say. I even gave them the account numbers.. NOTHING> The billing department also said after 7 years they write the outstanding bills off as not collectible. So What is going on?
How can these people call me after 15 years and try to collect? If the Hospital says they dont have a record of anything? And they wrote off the bills already after so many years... How do they get this information? I would'nt give out any information to them ( this so called debt collector). I called them back and said that the institution that they say is the providor on MY BiLLS said I owe nothing.. So????
Who would I be paying exactly? They said a law office... HMMMM... Sounds very fishy to me.. Any thoughts?? - sam replies to S. Maxwell| 1 replywhen you got the bill from the hospital, why didn't you send it to your insurance company? you are paying them to pay your medical bills. the hospitals bills your insurance company as a courtesy and to get their money faster. if the hospital billed your insurance company incorrectly, then its your problem, not theirs. welcome to the real world!
- AngelJust got the call but didn't answer
- Been there......Some tipsI agree with the posts that state they can be "difficult". They use scare tactics and jerk the system hoping the person they are collecting from doesn't have an attorney or file a Counter claim. Document everything, keep copies of cancelled checks etc, and take it to the judge! Actually the best thing may be for you to get a judgement, that way it solidify's what can be collected, and when you have paid in full ask that a "satisfaction of Judgement" be filed / entered as well as the necessary paperwork to stop Garnishments if necessary.
If you do not have an attorney, you may find the following link helpful: http://courts.michigan.gov/scao/selfhelp/collection/
It has a wealth of information regarding collections and how to object to garnishments.
It is your right as a taxpayer and an American to have swift and fair justice, the system is there, use it.
While it can be intimidating and even scary, it you have all of your documentation & proofs, and present it respectfully in the court, you may have a positive outcome.- Caller: Richard Lobbes
- S. Maxwell replies to samNice..A Hole. I DID! They said they paid it, I had the proof, the hospital said they never did. I had statements, invoices Explainations of benefits etc. I took it to court too and None of that mattered. Paying the 2k was alot less than I would have been into my Attorney for. Depending on the County your in , this may go the right (just) way or it may not.
By the way I do live in the REAL WORLD...I practice in a law related field, and its firms like the one that did this to myself and countless others that give the legitimate, law abiding ones a bad rep. Good Cop Bad Cop. - Good InfoI have info that there may be a class action against this firm. It is my understanding that the Firm was recently sold also. I will post info as soon as its validity & accuracy has been verified with regard to the CA.

- Shill Alert replies to PamHi Barbara. You sure are trying hard to scare people on this site aren't you? I guess when sites like this cut into your illicit profits, trying to spread fear is a logical (if even more illicit) response.
Problem is, your brain is just too small to get away with it. And your pants are on fire too!
Now go back to the boiler room to ply your scam, ok? You can't run it in here. - But wait there's morehttp://www.collectorsexposed.com/forum/index.php/topic/3716-law-offices-of-barbara-tsaturova/

Another year later, this is still showing as unsatisfied on my credit report. Totally screwing me over. Bull crap that there is nothing any of us can do about it!
- kimb4kthey have called my work to varify employment... how do I stop collections from doing this? I know it is a collection agency... as a matter of fact, they are working for Allied Business. Allied didn't even talk to us about what was owed or even try to set up payments, they just went at turned it over to this law office.

- No More Crud Callers| 2 repliesI got tired of these crud calls all the time and bought a Digitone Call Blocker. IT WORKS! Google "digitone call blocker" and get one. So simple a cave man could understand it. I was getting calls for someone who I never heard of. I was getting calls from scammers like "Card Services". I was getting political calls. ALL are now blocked. How it works... The phone line rings then the caller ID is sent. If the caller ID is on your BLOCK list the Digitone box intercepts the call and your phone does not ring.
