Just received call from individual with heavy accent stating my name and address and wanted me to verify that information.  Said medicare is sending out new medicare cards.  I responded this is a scam and the caller hung up.  I googled the 617-284-1955 phone number and this page came up.  Please let friends and family know about this scam.

Anyone   happen to  get the name of this outfit  when they called.
I know it was three initials    but cannot remember   what they were

Many calls from this number!  In spite of reporting to FTC and any other source I can find, we CONSTANTLY get MANY scam phone calls, so many that we rarely answer the phone unless we recognize the number.  What is the point of paying for a landline that we are intimidated into not using????

I received a phone call a few minutes ago. The background sounded like a very large, very busy office.

Caller:    Is this Mrs. Y--------?
Me:   Yes
Caller: This is Mrs. ... (I can't remember the name) with the Social Security Administration. We are sending out new social security cards and need to verify your information. Is your correct address (she read off my street address, town & zip code correctly)?
Me:    Yes
Caller:  Thank you. Now we just need to verify a little more information. What is the name of the banking institution where your checks are sent?
Me:     I don't do this over the telephone.
Caller immediately hung up.

Had a call from this #, person with a strong accent said they were with Medicare and were going to send me a new Medicare card and wanted to verify some information such as address, phone # and when they asked for my bank info I said "absolutely not" and said if you were with Medicare you would have a better handle on the English language and you wouldn't be calling asking for bank info. She then hung up.

Got a call from 617-284-1955 a few minutes ago. No response, no background noise either. Glad I always check on this website to look for scam calls.

I received 4 calls from 617-284-1955 yesterday and 1 today.  Since I don't recognize this number, I let the call go to my answering machine.  I hear call center noises and the caller never leaves a message.  We, too, are on the no-call list.  It doesn't do much good if the Federal government is giving (probably selling) our Social Security information to crooks.  Doesn't that make you feel warm and cuddly???

Missed several calls from this number and received several. I hung up and said not to call again. Yesterday  "Felix" called and asked for ssn and bank info.I told him not to call again. I am getting more unwanted calls now that I have renewed my DO NOT CALL order on both my cell and land line. they mumble so fast I cannot ctch the name of the company.

Just got a call from this number. He called out hello, hello, hello several times. I would not pick up. I don't normally get these spiels because I do not pick up if I don't know the number. If they are legit, they will identify themselves and leave a message.

My husband and I received a call from this number asking for our bank account #.  he gave the routing # and asked me to give the rest of it.  Arrogant to say the least.  I hung up on him and reported the incident to our bank; they are reporting it to security and monitoring the account.  

Had same experience on 10-15.  Caller verified address and phone number and then was disconnected.  Punched in call return and got a telephone operator message that this is not a working number.

Just received call (2nd this week) man with heavy accent calling himself "Matthew" & purporting to be from Medicare Verification Dept.  Said he needed to "verify" my personal info for a new card.  When I asked him to repeat his number he hung up.  Anybody we need to report this to?

10/17/2013 - Received call from a Male with a heavy middle Eastern accent and said he was sending our new Medicare cards and wanted to verify information.  He asked what bank we had, gave me the first numbers of the routing number and when I told him I don't give out any personal information over the phone he said he was giving me the number all I had to do is verify if it was correct.  I told him it wasn't.  At that point I figured something was up  so I told him to give me his number and I'd call him back.  He made up some excuse and I then hung up on him.  I copied his number off caller ID and I looked it up here.  

Same as before only now harrassing calls now repeated numerous times

Very heavy mid-east accent; said he was from Medicare checking my address for my checks;I  told him he needed to learn to speak English before pulling Scamming and Phishing calls. Ignorant to a wide degree!

This is so annoying!  The government can cram health insurance down our throats, can forceably extract tax dollars, can listen in on our personal phone calls, can regulate almost every aspect of our daily lives but cannot protect us from rob-callers who ignore the do not call list and try to scam us out of what little money the government allows us to keep.  So much for "a government for the people".

Received call this morning, Middle Eastern accent (male).  This is how the conversation went:  
"Hello"
"Is" this is Mrs. ******
"Who?"
"Is this Mrs. *****?"
"I don't know!"
"What, are you an idiot?"
He hung up!!

Just background noise--I don't know it's source, I don't answer--sounded like a noisy call center, which means I'll never answer--where is Do Not Call Registry in all this?  They are a joke!

We just got the same call.  We gave them the name of our bank, but, when they wanted to check the numbers at the bottom of our check we hung up on them.
