I got a message from this weirdo.  Ignored it.  I think its just another [***] scam like all the other unsolicited calls.  Who the hell calls peoples cell phones and leaves these types of messages?  I am sure some people do call back, but I am not buying this or any other pathetic message left.  Scam artist.  Besides why would the DEA be calling you?  And, I doubt they would leave a message!

I got the same call and said he is a DEA his name is Larry Jackson. Pls anyone tell me if this is real or not. I m so afraid...he said he will come to arrest me but i have no idea what did i do.

Do you know that a law enforcement officer will not call you in advance to warn you that you will be arrested?

If that isn't clear, go ask your mommy or daddy about it.

its all bogus and they are just scammers! report them to the FBI,FTC and your local authorities! they dont know how to get a real job, so they try to scam money out of hard working folks! dont let them do that -they are all lower then snakes!!

Its a scam, just ignore it, they are not even really calling from in the united states, they just know how to make it look like they are.

I got a call from these people. It’s a SCAM!!! DO NOT PAY them ANYTHING!!!  If they do show up at your home call 911.  If you have ordered medication on the Internet they have your information from that. You will get calls after that from drug dealers offering to sell any kind of illegal drug you want.  When you refuse or simply don’t answer the calls they use this scam, which actually sounds very real and scary at first.  A radio that sounds like a police radio is in the background and this phony officer Larry Jackson provides badge number N33419, division 38 case numbers etc.  He threatened to come pick me up today but he didn’t even have a current address.  However they are connected to a computer because he pulled up my current zip code and threatened to trace the call and come get me.  Alleging that the drugs were laced with cocaine etc. and even that my ex husband purchased drugs in my name because when asked why I was taking the medication I said because my ex was on steroids and violent.  So they sound very convincing at first but if you talk to them long enough you will realize it’s a scam.  He turns good cop then and says he will let you off with a fine in the amount of $1000 - $5000 and in return they will seal your record and it will simply go away and you are supposed to receive these documents in three to four days. I knew it was a scam when he started in with the cocaine laced drugs, my ex ordering steroids in my name and doing time in the Dominican Republic and time here for felony charges of distribution blah blah.  So I asked where the nearest location to pay the fine knowing already he was going to say Western Union and sure enough he did.  I was already online looking up this number he called from and a DEA office near my home.  I suggested I would simply go to the DEA office at this address and pay for the fine even though I knew at this time it was all a scam I figured I would have some fun with him. He also asked early on if I had a federal attorney, which was my first hint and said if I did then he could not offer me a deal and if I even talked to or retained an attorney the deal was immediately off the table.  So when he refused to accept payment at the DEA office I said I would be there with my attorney and that I already googled his number and knew it was a scam.  He also offers to send out two escorts to go with you to pay the money.  I wished I had thought to ask for the escorts he offered and called 911 to be here when they arrived since I know I have no illegal drugs nor prescriptions in the house.  And the order I placed was like 5 years ago when I didn't have medical insurance and not for any scheduled drug.  SO PLEASE people do not put yourself in this situation to meet anyone nor to pay any fine by Western Union.  If the DEA is going to bust you for something they will come to your home not call as a ‘courtesy’ so you can get rid of any evidence before they arrive.  I hope Date Line gets a hold of a call like this and offers to meet with the two people who are allegedly coming to escort you to pay the so called fine.

PS they only had my current zip because I asked them where the nearest office to go pay at and he asked for my zip but when he threatened to come pick me up I said well what address do you have because I want to make sure you have the correct address.  It was an address from four years ago...  PLEASE don't be fooled nor scared by these con artist bullies!!

Actually an officer will call your home number and offer the chance for you to turn yourself in.   DEA won't but for minor offenses they will, especially if you don't have a record.  And this man did some research because he knew I did not have a record so consider those who actually do have a record.  All it takes is an online detective program so they have invested some money into this scam which tells me they are succeeding sometimes.  Anyway these people are scared you don't have to add to a bad situation.  Show a bit of compassion because if you are not a part of the solution you are a part of the problem.  If you answer the call and actually talk to this person he was pretty scary, yelling and screaming like I committed some felony.  And the reality is there are ways to order illegal drugs on the internet and people do it and this Larry Jackson knows exactly what to say to scare someone especially if they don't know the law.  It took me a minute or so into the conversation to realize it was bogus.  He was extremely convincing. And I was scratching my head wondering how I could possibly be in trouble for a not scheduled medication.  And he does not immediately say he is going to bust you.  He probes for information and asks for your cooperation in busting these online pharmacies and that your information is there and then go on to say you are in trouble etc.  So I can see how these people would be scared and I don't doubt that they are succeeding with someone people unfortunately.

Oh I tried to call back the number just to see but it's a message machine or he had caller ID and didn't pick up my call again after I called him on the scam....

Got a call from an Officer James Kasson today.. last time it was a different number and the guy sounded like he was from GD Puerto Rico or El Salvador (garbled English). The last extortion call I got he asked how I was, and I said "super" and just hung up. He called back, and left a message saying "It is unwise of you to hang up on a federal officer, we will arrest you, it will be very wonderful arrest for you.." 1) The DEA doesn't deal over the phone like this AND 2) they can't just come out and say you will be arrested and especially leave a message saying so.

This time the guy sounded fairly American, but instead of the usual 643 area code it was 617 area code (MA).. The guy he claims to be is an officer out of Philly.. These guys use a Magic Jack and extort people and at first are very convincing and play on your emotions rather than your logic. They prey on innocent Americans and are the scum of the Earth. Don't give in. The DEA knows about them, they have stopped some, but they can't get them all. I imagine they will keep calling me. I just screen odd area codes. If its someone who really needs to speak to me, they will leave a message.

The officer has changed his name to Ronald Murphy. When he told me I was in violation of Section 21 of F1466, I told him to repeat that so I could go look it up. Got real mad at me! HELLO, I'M A PARALEGAL! ITS WHAT WE DO, LOOK UP THE LAW! Idiot. He hung up. I called him back and told him I knew he was a scam. They do sound very convincing though.

Got a message from Officer James Kasson today (well, at least I think that was his name - seriously ghetto voice going there like one of the pimps in Hollywood Shuffle). Total scam. Have gotten similar calls from other scammers calling from 202-280-7128. I save the messages for a good laugh. I have friends in law enforcement and no way, now how would DEA ever operate like this a la some Jerry Lewis telethon. If the DEA was really after you - payment over the phone is not what they'd be  after...and they don't call ahead if they suspect you are an illegal drug trafficker. It's a shame they use these scare tactics on older people who likely don't use the Internet to check the number. Losers like this inevitably get what they deserve...time in prison 'bring in the gimp' style.

Answer machine today took a call from individual identifying himself as a DEA agent, said to call 617-502-0553 regarding an investigation that's been going on for 3 years.

Only two days ago got a call that my wife was one of 3 finalists in a drawing for a prize worth $30,000. She NEVER enters contests, so we knew that was a lie. Checked out that phone number like I did with this one, and it seems a lot of other people were also one of 3 finalists in the same drawing.

We keep getting calls from a Mark Anderson. He gives a fake badge number and case number.  He started to ask me questions and I laughed at him.....  It's a scam and I wish there was a way to stop these people.

My friend called in a panic from her car!   "Detective" Marcus Anderson -  Badge #33419 -  called and accused her of buying an "illegal" drug ONCE off the internet from a company in the Dominican Republic 10 years ago!  The drug isn't illegal then and has never been so, however she did purchase via an online pharmacy.  Marcus offered her the choice of wearing a tracking bracelet for a year, going to jail for however long, or coming up with $4300 in cash immediately to make this go away.  My friend lives in a well known affluent community, but that doesn't mean she has money!  Anyway, thank you to all for maintaining this list.  We googled 617-502-0553 and found this scam site.  Thank you. The relief my friend felt was huge - she thought this was real and we were talking about how to get a cheap attorney and make this non-issue go away, when I found this site.  Thank you.

Special Agent Mark or Marcus Anderson called me today, left a message, and when I called back got the same story: Badge # 33419, Case No. 014215010 (even had me read it back).  He did cite some sort of law I was in violation of (Article 84  1466 section 21) and gave me similar choices: house arrest for a year, enter a drug rehab facility for 3 months, pay the fine (between $500 - $3200) or "take your chances in court."  Thank you for all of your posts about this phone number and scam.  I will call the DEA and report the scam tomorrow.  Super scarey!!!!!
