This is the 2nd call I received. This time it was from a Marcus Anderson district 97.  It came from (415) 852-9014. The first call was from a 617 area code from a so-called DEA agent, a few months back. I forget the name he used. Claimed they were investigating illegally purchased drugs on line. I purchased diet supplements on line years ago...anyway, I was scared at first but as the conversation went on I realized it was a scam.  My husband is a police officer and as soon as he called them back and identified himself as an officer, they hung up.  My husband called back again to speak with them, and the so-called DEA agent started cussing at him.  They will offer you a deal if you send them $. They will tell you they'll drop any possible charges and you won't do jail time if you pay some bogus fee.  DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE MONEY!!!   IT IS A SCAM!!!  Google the name and any additional information they give, such as district 97 or badge id number or phone number.  You will see many posts about others with the same experience.  IT IS A SCAM!!!

They called me as well. I don't order meds on the internet so I am kind of surprised by the call.  I then called the DEA main number and was told I was called by a scammer.

The DEA directed me to the following website for more information on this very popular scam:
    http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/pubs/pressreleases/extortion_scam.htm

Don't fall for it - report the caller to the DEA via the above link if they call you.

Got basically the exact call as the one that Diamond Girl reported from Jan 14, 2012. Same badge number,  dept 38 etc. He told me that they would be at my house within 10 minutes to arrest me. Knowing it was a scam, I asked him what if I'm not at home right now? He said they would track my cell phone and I would be arrested within 10 minutes. Said he was detective Mark Anderson on the first call. He then called me back 15 minutes later after talking to the "prosecutor". The same guy calls me back and claims he is the boss of Mark Anderson and uses a different name of Anthony. He didn't even try to change his voice and he used the same badge number as Mark Anderson, GO FIGURE. He never did hit me up for cash, so, I'm expecting another call. If he does call back, I;m really going to F### with him.

I got a message from this guy "Marcus Andersen" at my work that he claimed he was a detective from DEA.  They are investigating a case involving illegal drugs mailing to the US from Dominican Repulice.  He said I ordered the drug of Hydro Codone in my name to my home address.  He has my name and home address.  When I said I did not, he said he would try to remove me from this case as he believed that I was innocent.  However, he said there will be police coming to my house with search warrant and escort me out so they can interrogate me.  I found that he has heavy accent and I told him I would talk to my lawyer first.  Then he said oh you have a lawyer and is he a Federal lawyer and I said yes.  He seemed to be disappointed.  Of course this is a scam.  Don't believe it especially if they talk about money to help you!!!!!

I received a phone call yesterday from a man claiming to be a Special Agent Frank Thomas DEA, with the Narcotics Division 38. This man processed to tell me his badge #2241. He said he had information that I ordered medicine online about 6 years ago and it had 30% cocaine in it and I had violated Article 83-F1466 Sec 21. ( I did order diet pills online about 6 years ago.) Mr. Thomas then said because this was an illegal drug, I was going to be arrested within 15 minutes after we got off the phone and I was facing 3 years in prison. Well, you can guess I was very upset at this point. I was putting my things in a garbage bag as we spoke to get the heck out of here. Without going into every detail about this, I came to the realization that if this man was going to arrest me for wrong doing, he would NOT have called me to tell me first. This man said at the end of our conversation, if I cooperated fully, I would not be arrested and I would receive paperwork in the next 3 business days. OK, when this paperwork comes in, I'm sure it will be asking for money to keep this off my record or something. I took all this information to the sheriffs office today and it was confirmed it IS a scam. I really thought my world had ended. Thanks to a freaking scammer, I experienced about 15 minutes of thinking my freedom was gone. LOL. yes, I was a little slow at realizing it was a scam.

I received a call from 415.251.8119.  First special agent Janet Brown left a message.  When I called back I spoke with Agent Frank Anderson Badge #2289.  Said my case number is 01-421-5010.  Said they had in custody all the records from an online pharmacy they had busted.  My name was on there and the meds were cut with cocaine, not properly manufactured.   I had broken federal laws and  would need to get a "federal" attorney.  I did purchase weight loss pills6+ years ago.  "They would be at my house shortly to investigate.  They tracked my cell phone".  The BIG problem is that they had tons of information about me!  Very scary.
I will call DEA Monday morning first thing.
