I got a call from "617-778-6798" and then you are supposed to press "1" to be placed on the do not call list - but it doesn't work . . . . I keep getting calls (it's been about 3 weeks) . . . So frustrating!!

I got a call on my cell - which is on the DNC list. I wasn't able to take the call - you mail has the caller id as CUSTOMER SUPPRT, the cell just displayed he phone number (617) 778-6798. I also reported it to the FCC

Me too.  I got a call about the same time you did.  I'm on do not call too.  I was in the middle of teaching a class.  I answered because I thought it was something important.  What good is do not call if they keep calling.  Pressing 8 doesn't do any good.  I've had the same thing happen repeatedly with a company calling about credit.  They start with "nothing is wrong we are calling with an offer...."  I've hung up, I've pressed 1 and I've pressed 8.  I'm always told, we'll take you off and shortly there after I get another call and it starts over again.

I got the same call, but I was not able to hear them because it was setup to my bluetooth and forgot.  I am glad I missed it

wow -- I can't believe I'm seeing so many other people who had this same experience on the same day.  I just tried to trace this number because within a few hours they called my work number as well as my personal cell phone!  And I too am on the do-not-call list!
I didn't call them back --- and, not surprising, they didn't leave a message.

Called my cellphone in Arizona about 2 p.m. and did not leave a message.  About 2:30 called my wife's cell phone which is nearly exact but just a few numbers off mine and we still didn't answer.  Drunk dialing, trolling or who knows what.  Not right at all!

Phone answer machine picked up around 4:40 pm. I called the number back, and a male's customer service type voice said, "If you would like to be put on our do not call list..press 1 "  I pressed 1, then there was a hang up on the other end. I did a search of the number, and it showed the number to be in the Suffolk County, Boston, Mass. area with a phone type of CMBRMAMQDSO.

Everyday they call me, and everyday I do not answer. They are wasting their time auto-dialing me! Thanks to this site, I know I have been right.

Not according to recent legislation as of the beginning of 2008. Cell phones are allowed to be solicited now. So make sure to put it on the do not call list. =0

Called cell phone, no I.D., did not leave message.

I answered the recorded message, pressed whatever key to schedule a carpet cleaning.  She identified herself as Carpet Care.  I asked about carpet cleaning.  When I asked where she was located, she hung up.  Obviously a scam.  Don't both calling them back either.  They won't answer.  And, by the way, they called the cell phone that is on the DNC list.  Once again, a scam.  Wouldn't you think that the phone number could be traced to someone??  Couldn't find anyone on the web matching Carpet Care (too generic).

I received a call from this number at 3:50 PM (Central Time) on Saturday 7-11-2009.  My cell phone number is already on the Do Not Call list;  I can't imagine why this Boston-area carpet-cleaning company would call my cell phone in Chicago.  Imagine the travel charges that would apply!  :P

Received a carpet cleaning call from 617-778-6798 at 6:25 pm July 13.  I have reported it to the FCC, but past experience suggests that nothing will happen to stop the calls.

Received a call on my cell phone (which I didn't answer) but they didn't leave a message.  I'm not near this area code and don't know why they're calling me, or any of us!!!!!!!!!  I'm not on the do not call list but I understand that they're not to call us anyway so what good does it do?

I got a call from 617-778-6798 and I'm filing a complaint with the FCC

Got the call today on my 617 cell phone.  Asked the name of the company and where they are located.  They said all over the Boston area.  They told me there was one in Saugus, and the address they gave (5 Laurel Street) comes up as a residential address with street view on Google Maps.  I then asked for the number to that location so I could call them directly, and they gave me 888-731-8198 (which is just a fax number), to which I said that is weird that they do not have a local number and hung up with them.  SCAM!!!!!!!!

I just received this call and I filed the FCC complaints (thanks to wms5117 for the link).   I rarely give my cell phone number to anyone.  I got it on 2:56pm as a reference.

just called me too, at 246pm...i hope they dont steal my identity!
