Call is computer driven given volume of complaints being in the million call range. Call originates with Boston Globe Newspaper (a subsidiary of the N.Y. Times), although driven by Turnkey Solutions, Inc.
Now, it is obvious that Turnkey is reaching thousands of people, yet they don't stay on the line long enough to connect with their recipient. So, what are they doing and what is the trigger which causes them to disconnect after one ring? Obviously, they are not stupid, they are not spending money for no apparent reason,and they are not triggered to disconnect because they sense an answering machine or voice mail since they hang up too quickly. So what is the trigger? It seems to be the very first ring itself for that signals their computer that you are not of interest to them. So what are they looking for? DIGITAL TRANSMISSIONS! They want to find your computer operating and, if it isn't, they'll hang up and call again later.This suggests that they want to get into the back door of your computer and extract valid information for their own use. Given that the Boston Globe is a reputable institution, you need not fear criminal activity or theft of your personal financial data. So  what are they after? Most likely, your email address! Why? Because Turnkey is building, for the Boston Globe, a massive database of emails such that millions of people can be reached almost instantaneously in the future with ads, promotional deals, etc. A very large newspaper may have a circulation of 350,000 paid subscribers, but with email, a circulation in the millions becomes a reality.Result? Globe can offer businesses greater advertising coverage  for the buck if they go electronically,instead of by the old-fashioned paper route! AND WHY? Because old-fashioned newspapers are dying dinosaurs in this electronic society. You either go digital, or you go out of business! TO WIT: the San Francisco Chronicle and the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, Colorado have just gone belly-up! The N.Y. Times knows that it MUST go digital or go out of business, and they don't intend the latter. Sorry to waste your time with such a long message, but it sheds a  little light on the delemna that the public has endured for so long.

Turnkey Solutions calls at least twice per day.  I have complained to the Globe numerous times and they assured me that they would remove my name and number from their hitlist.  That never happened and they now don't respond at all to my complaints.  The fact that they hire a contractor (Turnkey Solutions) to perform this scumbag practice is their responsibility.  Spread the word....DO NOT BUY FROM A COMPANY THAT ENGAGES IN THIS HARRASSMENT.  Althought the Globe will die of its own weight and go the way of high button shoes.

OMG, the message above is beyond absurd.  No one is calling trying to find your computer so they can steal your email address.  That's one of the more ridiculous technical conspiracy theories I've ever heard.

I noticed this number calling my Asterisk computer repeatedly but it never gets past the auto-attendant.  I'm about to block it so it gets the disconnected signal - hopefully then they'll never call back.

I started getting calls from this nmber around Dec last year...about the time my Globe subscritption was going to expire. And I cancelled my renewed subscription this month and the calls have been coming again...it is really annoying...I don't answer them...I just silence the call.

I also keep getting these calls - but they cost me money since I pay 10 a min.   Isn't there something that can be done....

The first time I got the call it was 9:30PM and the caller ID just read Hyde Park MA with #617-910-4798. Of course I didn't answer the phone, I had no idea who it was and there was no message! Again the next day same phone call. Now reading some of the comments on this site it makes sense because The Boston Globe had called yesterday to offer "a deal", but it was one of my children who they spoke with. Today I got another Hyde Park call, but this time I picked up, could hear that the line was open but no one responding and when I called back it was a women's voice recording "you have reached turn key solutions".  That's when I looked up this site.  I get crazy calls like these all the time HELP what can I do?

I was getting 2-3 calls from this number every day.  I called The Boston Globe Customer Service and left a message about Turnkey Solutions' constant calls.  The Globe employs Turnkey Solutions.  I also said that there were many harrassment complaints on the Internet and suggested the Globe read them.  Turnkey Solutions was doing the Globe a disservice, and not helping them win over any potential customers. I got a call back from "Rosemary" at the Globe and she apologized profusely.  She promised my number would be removed from their calling list, and noted that it would take about 2-3 weeks.  She said to call her if I have any problems.

So just call Rosemary at The Boston Globe at 617-929-2233 and tell her to take your name off Turnkey Solutions' calling list. She's very nice.

They call morning, noon and night and never leave a message

It's the Boston Globe.  I called them right back and yelled at them, and said I don't want the globe, said DO NOT CALL, gave my number; she made me repeat the last 4 digits.  So, if they call again (sometimes CID says "local paper") I'll do the same thing

THis is one annoying call which happens almost every single day, inspite of listing our # in the donot call list.

I get calls from this number sometimes 2 or 3 times a day.I used to answer and tell them I do not want their newspaper. They just keep calling back.I'm sick of it . I am on the Do not call list but still get the calls from them.

Calls constantly  between 8 am - 8 pm. Up to 6 x per day !No messages.

Calling for Boston Globe. Cancelled my subscription about a month or so ago when they jacked up their prices because they are going broke.  Now they want me to sign up again.  Called the # back and it said all operators were busy and leave a message.  I left a blood curdling scream on their voice mail.  Hope they like it.
