- Bp replies to TiaThat probably won't do any good, because it's apparently a scam. They will just call your cell phone, because I have got unwanted calls on my cell phone, too.
- BP replies to PaulineI think it's a scam, and so they aren't going to care about falling the law.
- BP replies to StevenIf it's a legit US company that is outsourcing the calls, I think the company might still get in trouble for the calls. If it's scam, they aren't going to care even if they are in the US.
- BpI'm almost sure this is a scam. Getting upset with AT&T won't do any good if it's a scam.
- ESame experience.

- SweetI have been getting calls from this number several times a day for 2 weeks now. Caller ID says ATT but no message is left on my machine. You are met with silence when you do answer. Very annoying.

- MCharles| 1 replySeriously, this is not AT&T, it is a scammer who might be (very unlikely since likely motive is credit information and selling unneeded wiring services) getting a commission for obtaining cable signups. In the process, they will get your credit information, sell you services and wiring you don't need, and jack your rates up to higher than they were before after the so-called "introductory" period expires.
If the service is DSL over existing phone lines (very slow in comparison to digital), you need no new wiring, and representations to the contrary are fraudulent. All you would need is a DSL modem which is inexpensive. If you pay a monthly charge for such without buying your own, you are getting fleeced. They will no doubt claim there is noise on the line so work is required, but don't believe them.
Do the smart thing --- either hang up or tell them you wish to be removed from their list. They must obey this request. Of course, a disreputable business such as this will not, and by that you can tell what they really are -- low life scumbags.- Caller: ATT

- Einzi replies to Virginia FishbackCall your attorney generals office and ask them,if they say 'no not us' at least it gives you peace of mind. However the ' law enforcement would be at my door to detain me for 72 hours ' gave it all away that it is a scam.

- sgtebI received several calls from this number, showing "ATT" as the caller, about one year ago, but never answered. I called a legitimate number for ATT in my area, quoted the Customer Service Rep (CSR) this number, and asked if this was a legitimate number for ATT. The CSR said something along these lines: "We have third parties that represent us, and it is difficult to know all of them." The sad thing was that he made no attempt to communicate to me that ATT would investigate, or if they had a list of legitimate representatives of ATT, or, etc. I just started receiving calls from this number again - still do not answer. After reading some of these responses, I am glad that I have never answered this number.
