I am confident that this is Portfolio Recovery Associates, as everything described on this page fits their MO perfectly (refusing to identify themselves, no message, etc...).
Thing is, I do owe "them" money, but have very little confidence that paying them off will get rid of them.- Caller: Unknown, technically

- TBD replies to Stefanie| 2 repliesIf you have a smartphone - you can create a contact for "Scam" & set the caller ID to block them; then they can't leave a message (not like they would) nor can they get through & make your phone ring. The phone basically ignores them & blocks them from contacting your from that number. I've done this & it works great! :)

- Soren| 1 replyIn regards to my post above-----
Sorry about the misspellings and grammatical error.
* there should have been a question mark at the end of sentence four
* meant to write "fer" in the third sentence of my fantasy response but my iOS device changed it to "fear"
Man, oh, man am I anal ? I just critiqued my own post!
I digress...- Caller: Portfolio Rec.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Elspeth replies to SorenRegardless of the fact that you do have financial difficulties, ALWAYS make a caller mail - do not accept email or fax - proof that you owe a debt and proof that your caller has the legal right to collect said debt. This is your right per federal law (the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act). If they refuse to mail this documentation, do not pay them! More good information here:
