Just got a call from this number, didn't answer, never do when I can't ID the caller. The call was to my unlisted business line so it couldn't be a personal call. And it's interesting that reports here say this number is used by the "you owe the IRS money" scammers (among many others) because not even an hour before I got a call where the caller ID said it was from 951-404-2399 and at that time they did leave a voice message, which my phone service transcribed for me as

"Hi my name is Steve Martin and this message is intended to contact you regarding an enforcement action executed by the United States Treasury extending your fee for your attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is [ninety]514024399. I repeat it's 951-402-4399. I'd like you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you."

Note that I added the [ninety] as that's how the caller, with a thick Indian or middle eastern accent said it. Note too that the number "Steve Martin" (that wild and caaarazy guy) wants me to call is in prefix 402 not 404 as was spoofed on the caller ID.

Exactly like the very well publicized scams.

Silly scammers... but they must be fooling someone for them to keep doing this and that is truly sad.

Just received a call stating on recorded message asking for me and then it stated

Recording stating the company was Bank of America and my MasterCard was stolen. Only I don't have a MasterCard. I hung up and called the number 630-318-4762 and recording advising the number wasn't assigned yet. Whatever that means. SCAMMERS

I have received several calls from this number stating that they are the IRS and that im being sued for back taxes which isn't true.  They asked for my name and social security number where i replied that if they were the irs they should know that.  Then they told me to pack my property up because they were seizing my property.  They want me to call a different number to respond at (360)967-4458 which i called and received no answer.  i also called and filed a complaint with the irs about the scam.

Wow, a lot of anger here!  I find it annoying, too.  The FCC list worked up until internet use became so prolific.  We will never be able to control the intrusion of unwanted calls but I follow a few rules that work for me.  I never lose my temper... anymore.  I remember blowing a bobby whistle from England into the phone at a telemarkteer once - you know the high, shrill sounding whistles?  Almost blew my ears out ;-)  I no longer cuss at them because I realize where there is a will they will find a way.  Now I check caller ID, if it is from a 800 area code I pick up the phone and end the call without a word.  If it is a area code I am familiar with, I pick up the phone and listen.  If it is a human calling they will say, "Hello?" - my friends and family all know this so they don't hang up without identifying themselves.  If it is a roto dialling call and I speak a sound their recorded message will begin and I don't want to hear it.  So I end the call, hang up and forget about it.  I'm not going to give them the satisfaction of getting me angry or upset.

These are scammers, not a legit collections agency. Scammers don't give a damn about FTC regulations or FCC rules or Do Not Call Lists -- Because they are phony! They claim to be Alden & Darby located in the Carolinas. The phone number is a spoofed Illinois number which cannot be called back. Pretty slick how they use a football player's name as the name of their "firm" lol. They call & claim you owe money on a loan/debt from years ago, but as soon as you start asking questions & challenging them, they are ready to hang up on you....Don't fall for this crap!

I work for a local court system so let me clear things up for everyone.  These people are Low life bottom feeders...commonly called Zombie Collectors, meaning they are trying to collect debts for anything.  It could be an old debt, or even worse not even you they are looking for, and here's the best part THEY DON'T CARE WHO THEY COLLECT FROM.  And for gods sake don't answer your phone or return the call because then they will identify it as a good working number, and blow up your phone.  Reporting them does no good as they change phone numbers and spoof phone numbers. (which is illegal)  I know it sounds nice to send them a letter or report them, but this is a futile. They have got this to a science.  With all that is going on in court system they know they have time on their side.  Not enough of these low life bottom feeders get caught and prosecuted, if they did...they wouldn't still be in business, but they are, thousands of them. Best thing to do is IGNORE the Call or Block the call.  Eventually they will go away to torment another.

My husband just got a call from here too. Left a message but was just the sound of a crowd, like a call center. Nobody ever spoke directly to the phone, then hung up like 20 seconds later....called back, and said not yet assigned....I saw someone else said that same thing 7 years ago....like, it really takes 7 years to assign a Number? Lol

A man with Indian accent tells me a that I need a lawyer do a law suit. He wishes for me to provide my lawyers name. I said on a regular 3 month basis, I get such calls and nithing has happened in 4 years and that he can send me what he has. He was polite and hung up

This number has called my house several times.  I do not recognize nor do I answer the call.

Received a call this morning & pushed it to voice mail. A very obviously automated robo-voice said they need to speak to our "legal council regarding an urgent IRS matter" and left the same number. That my friends is federal fraud, reporting this one to the REAL IRS.

Just a robocall wanting to sell home security systems.

Got a call this morning from " J " about my computer. I wasn't in the mood to string him along for a while so I just hung up.  Usually I pretend to be really worried and then hang up!!  May as well get a bit of fun out of these scammers. 😁

I asked them to take me off of their list and not call back and their response was they could not do that.
