- T N MarylandWas caught off guard - answered my Cell phone thinking was someone I was familiar with - SO I won a FREE Vacation in the Bahamas by answering a few questions (ROBO format). Didn't press the right response key (purposely) - three times and call was terminated - automatically. Guess I am not traveling to the Bahamas - but least ways wasn't for Student Loans - Medical Issues - IRS Issues - Lost Relatives - Outstanding Loans etc.

- AnonymScam attempt. Calling about computer virus on my PC. "Funny," I answered, "I have a Mac." They started going on about my Mac having a virus. But I have a PowerPC, no Intel chip. I had a good laugh.

- akheron| 1 replyI just saw this number appear on my cell phone. I didn't answer, as if I get a call from an recognized source especially not when its from a state in which I do not recognize the number. Then Google it after.
I came up with your posts to see that it is a scam or is fraudulent in some manner. Thanks to everyone's warnings!
I don't answer my phone unless they are listed in my contacts
A) I get a metric ass ton of calls from people trying to reach consumer affairs my number is either very close to their own. Misprinted on the CA's website. Wrong area code used. So on and so forth.
B) I only answer calls from numbers in my contacts. If it's a legitimate call, even if mistakenly, they will leave a message.
I'd like to reiterate my thanks, also to remind people to NEVER give anyone who calls you, personal info including: DOB, SSN, FULL NAME, MAIDEN NAME, ADDRESS, ETC. Legitimate companies will not call you asking you for information. - Dan Z replies to akheronNever give them REAL personal info.
They use a fake phone number. So, it only seems fair to give them fake personal info and to put them on hold for fake searches of an imaginary cards, right? - Janet M. EgnorThis person called today 1241 pm IL, USA When I asked why he was calling me, I couldn't understand him he was a foreign. I asked to be removed from his calling list, and don't call this number again. He used explicit language and said he was going to call me again tomorrow. How do we get these calls stopped. It is aggravating, with companies doing so much outcalls these days, I cannot screen the numbers, as if I don't know the number I would ignore, but some legit companies like my medical suppliers use out calls from all over the states to take orders. I am fed up with this.
