if we know the number and where they are calling from. than why in hell don't the law do something about it-

'The law' can do something about it, but you have to file a criminal complaint yourself with telephone crimes.  If you haven't lost anything of value from the calls, about the only crime committed would be 'harassment.'  You'll have to collect the evidence yourself, also - You'll have to report exactly who is calling you, the address where they are located, exactly when they have called you, recordings of what was said, and some evidence of the suffering it has caused you.  Usually, you would get the telephone company involved first - report the harassment to them, and they will then advice you to file your criminal complaint and evidence with your local law enforcement.  At that point, you hire a lawyer and get the law to do something about it.

I got the call at 11 am on 8/25/2015. I did not answer the phone. Big scammer.

Just received my call blocker yesterday and attached to phone - so far so good. Blacked all calls with no CID and just add other numbers to black list to block them as they call. I already had a list of some numbers to black list. My phone is already so much quieter. :-)  Love it. If you are interested, I got the Sentry V2.0. There are several on the market, just google call blockers. This one was in a price range I could afford and is working great. I was receiving several CALLS a DAY from 2 different callers. One was Unknown name with a number 1 - they would call almost every hour added to the other unknown callers, I got so tired of hearing my phone ring all day long. Now when they call my phone rings once (just so the call information shows on your caller ID incase you need it) and hangs up on the caller. Unknown 1 has only called once today - got the message I hope. In fact my phone has not rang much at all today - just family calls.  :-)  Call me happy.

First bit of advice - don't answer when they call.  If you feel compelled to answer their call, the next time they ask for the person you don't know - pretend like you just got very upset and act like you are crying - and tell them that person just died and you are waiting on the police and ambulance to get there - and you have to hang up now to keep the line open OR once again, your very upset - that person passed away and you're on your way out to door for their funeral.

The more numbers i report on the dnc complaint web page, the more calls i get. The feds must be releasing the information about the complainants under the freedom of information act. The feds brag about the few busts they make on these robocallers as well as the fines they impose and collect, but they never seem to pass the money along to those of us that pay our phone bills. I wonder how quickly they would act if obama was getting these phone calls at all hours of the day and night.

Received a call from this number, did not answer call as I did not recognize the number, no voice message, call number back and got recording that this is no longer a working number, blocked number

Rec'd call today (08/27/15) did not answer.  Tried to call back within 5 minutes (from an old prepaid cell phone that I use just for stuff like this) just to harass them but got a recording saying "The number you have reached is no longer in service".  It's probably a spoofed number.

"John" called on y cell phone to say that I could get lower interest rates.  I demanded to know where he got my cell phone number. The "Federal Telecommunications Authority" was the answer.  I demanded to know what credit card company.  He mumbled something.  I said I understood there was a $1500 fine for telemarketer calls made to cell phones.  The guy hung up.

CID is card services.  Which is never good.   Intercepted and blocked by Nomo.

I challenge you to identify one person who has ever done what you describe for a call from "Card Services".

Aug. 28, 2015 prerecorded call in a woman's voice with 630-519-6450, Illinois appearing on Caller ID. A guy with an Indian accent came on and said "Card Member Services."  When I asked "Who are you trying to reach?" he said "We are trying to reach you." I said "Who are you? he immediately hung up.

Received a phone call from this number I did not answer. 09/01/2015 4:04 p.m.
