- AnnomousGot a call from this company today also. So glad on the HTC One there is a feature called Block Contact. If you put the number on your list you are Never disturbed at all. They also are unable to leave a message.
- Rosana| 1 replyI just got these calls from the same number(s) 630-692-3000/800-478-5809x223 from Mary Stevens and Mrs. Ortiz from Second Chance Financial for about the 4th time again this past month. They are saying I owe a payday loan and to settle my debt to pay them $300.01 and if I don't they are going to start proceedings to garnish my wages for over $2,600. I have asked them to send me information of the payday loan company that I owe money to and they can't. They sound so legit, but after hearing all of you commenting the same thing, I'm done with these people. Also I just called the numbers back and the 630 number is an "energy plant company in Illinois"!

More scamming by Second Chance. - CWG40 replies to warriorThis Amy ANderson called with a call back number of 720.346.6268. Claimed to be with the State of Colorado and that she was going to garnish wages. This Second Chance is a really scummy outfit.
- CWG40 replies to QUISHANA MAXWELLTotal scam. They aren't going to do anything. It takes court orders to do anything. No way are these people going to go to court. They are trying to scare you into giving them money. Ignore them. Do not return their calls and do not give them any information.
Fraudulent or Zombie Debt Collectors—Things to Know
If you have received a call stating:
1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6. Authorities are coming to arrest you
7. Anything similar to above,
a. Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
b. Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are filing a complaint with the appropriate authorities
* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
* File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in
The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency). [abstracted from another site]
If they continue to bother you make a police report for extortion. - CWG40 replies to Mel MTotal nonsense. Only the DMV or a court can suspend anyone's DL license, and that is only after a hearing of some kind. Debt collectors have no power to do anything. Period.
