- Phillip H. DuranI got this call when I was away from my cell phone, so I didn't / couldn't answer. I later typed in the number on the url window and saw a long list of posts from other callers who were called by the same number. Someone traced the calling party to Level 3 Communications in Kings Park, NY and said that "Wikipedia says Level 3 was accused of wiretapping more than once." I'm glad I didn't answer; I don't want to be called again from this number.
- Caller: Level 3 Communications?

- gatReceived calls 3 days in a row on cell and once on home phone. One ring then a hang up. Called number back, automated voice said "you are probably calling to talk with one of our customer service agents or to ask us to refrain from calling in the future. Press one for a representative, two to be placed on our do not call list." Pressed two so will see what happens next.

- RickThe phony group calls and claims my laptop is downloading a virus. They are calling me because my ISP called them and asked them to call me and "fix" my problem. The last time one called he claimed to be "Alex" from Windows and was going to get rid of the virus I had. He said all I had to do was let him take control of my computer and he would do the rest. I pretended to know nothing about computers and let him go on with his instructions, at the same time I was killing my connection to our network. When finally gave me direction on how to let him have control of my laptop (which was now turned off) I told him it flashed to the blue screen and would not restart. He got excited and asked if I had other computer in the house and if I could get on one of those so he could do his job. I told him they were all MACs. I thought he was going to scream. Either him or several of his friends have called me back every day now wanting me to give them access to my laptop.

- Chip replies to ShelleyShelley, they did not get "your number" they got everybody's #, automatic dialer simply starts at 0000 in any given telephone exchange and dials all 10,000 numbers...0000, 0001, 0002, 0003.......on up to 9999. The same # calls my cell about every 4 business days, I finally added them to the block list. Have never added a # to that, will see how well it works.
- Chip replies to from jerseyI seem to be on approximately a 4 business day cycle with them, so don't be lulled into a false sense of security if they miss a few days.
