Same story as the last time these creeps called.  We need laws requiring debt collectors to make sure they're harassing the right people. With the internet is easy to check on who owns a phone number.  If that's your business it would save a lot of wasted time.

    Another Scammee`
As has been stated before, the source of this scam is a company in Chesterfield, MO, evidently a collection agency with very poor investigative, self identification and customer skills.

Venting here may be personally satisfying, if you want to share the pain, contact a state and/or federal regulator.

    As reported previously

That was a post from a Shill - what is called a "Pay yor billz" Shill.  That post was in 2009 and you can see how it offends posters even now.  The shill most likely worked for a phony debt collector - a criminal working for crooks.  It is an ugly business.

Remember, a phone call is NOT a legal notice of a debt.  Scan posts on page 3 and 4 and you will get some ideas on how to deal with these swine.

Just received call, no message. Been getting these types of calls for over 5 years. Owe nobody nothing. Usually looking for someone we never heard of. Talk to someone, get # removed then calls start from different # all over again. Nothing but a scam. If you call back, start asking questions, like who is the CEO, street address, & name of head of their legal dept. usually hang up on you.

123 what are you doing on this page if you yourself are not receiving calls?  Before going off on people you need to hear the whole story!  I'm guessing you work for a non reputable agency such as this one or maybe for this very one...

So, considering that person posted here in 2009, 8 years ago, are you really expecting them to see your reply?

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Thank you for putting this clueless wonder in their place. Medical bills alone can just about ruin you financially. It sounds like this person needs a good dose of reality and has some growing up to do.

Wow - aren't you a judgemental a$$.  Most likely they are for medical bills such as mine are.  I have a job & I pay my bills, but there is $0 left for medical bills that were tripled because the Dr. put an infected implant in my son's knee which required extensive therapy, then removal & antibiotics for 6 weeks at $2000.00/ a day!!!  Yes, you read that correctly - 2K/day for antibiotics.

123 you obviously work for these scum bags!  Did you ever think that sometimes they have a wrong number or wrong name?  When this unreputable company calls and is told that they have a wrong number they should check it out instead of being rude and threatening!
