Got a call from this number for 3 days straight; after answering the phone and demanded that he tell me who he was and what he wanted.  Of course, his name was Justin Smith (with a heavy Indian accent) and stated that I was going to be arrested for check fraud due to not paying back a cash advance.  Because I know my rights, I told him I was going to report him and the phone number to authorities IMMEDIATELY if he did not stop.  Instead, he call my employer and threatened me again.  Just for my protection, I saved both messages of him threatening jail.

Got two calls from this number today on my voicemail at work. Definitely an Indian person. It sounds like he's calling from a call center! The first message was barely audible. The second I could make out somewhat; indicating the call was for a Gregory Tumar (that's not me) to call back immediately regarding my "case" or else "suffer the consequences"...
Seriously US based folks, if there was a pending legal action on you, legal papers would be served. Complete hoax!

I got the same message on my cell phone.  He said he was Attorney Ron Adams and I need my attorney to call him as I would be arrested and have to face the legal consequences and to have a Blessed Day!!!!!!  I get these calls almost everyday from a different number that I am going to be arrested or served.  It is annoying, frustrating and ridiculous how many times a day they call.  I continue to ignore the calls and delete as soon as I get.  One day I had over 20 calls within 3 hours.  Never, never pay these people.  They absolutely, possitively are SCAMS.  I can't believe they are getting away with calling people day after day.  They need to get real jobs like the rest of us.  Thanks for listening, KMR

I am so tired of these unlawful people calling me, The first time they called, it was from a Louisiana number now its a NY number. The same way they threatened me with going to jail; I returned the threat and told him at the time the name was Jack Green that if he didn't stop calling me I was going to come Louisiana and choke the [***] out of him. That stopped the calls for about a month and a half and yesterday they started again. Is there anything that the federal government can do about these people. I called him back this morning and told him not to call my number anymore; and now when I call the telephone rings about three times and then I get a busy signal. I am so sick of these thieves.

I just received a call from this office stating he was Office Ron something. Very heavy Indian accent. I know it was a result of the internet as recently i went on-line to check about MAYBE geting a payday loan. I have not taken one. He said that i owe a company $450 and that unless i give him that amount of money today, there would be a warrent for my arrest on Monday morning. I kept pushing for more information but got no-where. finally I agreed i would pay a small deposit on the amount he said i owed. He then said i had to go to a local store where greendot money packs were sold. That was the final straw. I knew it was fraud. Only scams use the greendot money packs. If it were real, he would have set up payments for me with my debit/credit card. Not insisting i go purchase this greendot money pack.

Beware of fraud such as this.

just wanted to add that if you have a cell phone, you can block the number so they can't continue to call you under that number. I have since blocked the number. Waiting to see if they try to call me again under a different number.

I've gotten a few calls from this #, threatening to have the police come arrest me.   They wanted me to buy a pre-paid card to stop harassing phone calls and put off legal action.   I have no affiliation with them, and no loans, don't know why they're targeting me.   I was suspicious from the first second.   His accent was Asian and very bad English/Grammar.  Said his name was "attorney" Joe Smith and he worked for David Hernandez law firm.   When I asked valid questions, he became abusive and called me a [***].   They then mixed the phone #'s ,and I got another call from a (419) #, which is my local area code.   again, a man with a thick-Asian accent, saying he was from the Knox county Sheriff's office and needed to serve me in person.  When I tried to call back the #, it wouldn't go through.  I also called the Knox county sheriff's office, and was advised to report the #, no one was looking for me.
Recently, I was looking for cars on-line with my daughter, when these types of calls started....damn con artists.  BEWARE!

I get this call every so often going back to 2009. Truth is I had a issue with a payday loan that slipped through the cracks and i did really owe money to  Pay day loan company. The legit guy I spoke to was completely different from theses yahoo's, for starters they do not arrest you but put a mark on your check report ( can't remember what it is)  which could cause your bank account to be garnished or frozen   till the debt is recovered, they will also work with you to pay it off as longas you are straight with them, and lastly they will send you letters via snail mail to confirm they are real.  They go out of there way to prove they are legit. Oh and they "dont say good luck as what is about to unfold on you" Which seems to be in the scammers hand book for these guys because every damn call I have gotten ends that why.

If that is true, why are they using the same phone number as the scammers?

Interesting, you did not even give a real name for the supposed company.

    Shill much?

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
