I too just got several calls back to back (which I ignored) from 646-712-9946 & +1 (1) 646-712-9946.  I figured that if it was important they would leave a vm.  Nope....they just kept calling.  I've blocked them.  SMH

I was called and asked if I was <name> with <company>. I said yes. Then he hung up. How did he get this information?

Bogus call. block it.

Why would you confirm anything without knowing who was asking?

Why give them anything? Just hang up when people start asking for contact info they have no business asking for. Or, better still, don't answer calls with unfamiliar numbers. That's the beauty of call display and voicemail!

Why would you give him ANYTHING? That only encourages them to call you again. Just don't answer unfamiliar numbers. That's the beauty of voicemail. You can call legitimate callers back immediately if they leave a message. And if someone you don't know starts asking for information, HANG UP! As long as we keep engaging with these people, the calls will continue.

Exactly the same happened to me. Wonder who sold our personal info to these scammeers. Internet privacy matters!

Like everyone else, guy sounded Indian, asked for someone who works at my company but when I tried to get his name and number and what it was regarding, he hung up.  He tried several times but as soon as he heard it was me answering, he kept hanging up.  Steer clear of this caller.  Obviously a scammer.
