Received the same type of recorded message from the same phone #.  I almost cracked up, because it's so ridiculous.  The  final comment from "Steve Martin" was   "I advise you to cooperate so that we can help you."    My advise to him --   LEARN HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH, before trying to leave a scam message. At least I got a good laugh out of it.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Got a phone call today 01/11/16 from Steve Martin telling me the same thing he has been telling others..he was from IRS, etc..I am a former federal employee and know that govt agencies just dont call you about stuff like he was throwing out..they send registered letters..besides, his accent was so bad, that there was no way he was a Steve Martin..more like Ahmed instead...traced his number to NY..and that is how I found this site..reported this to IRS today...

Have received 3 calls in two days so far.  This is a scam and a threatening call from someone w/ a middle eastern accent claiming they represent our US Treasury Dept. stating if you don't cooperate you will be criminally prosecuted.  I would never respond but it is extremely annoying that he is calling at 8a.m. and 9a.m. and early afternoon.  This person is the one who should be criminally prosecuted for threatening harassment.

Why try calling back? May get a mean charge on your bill or an innocent person while confirming your number works.  No kind of an answer on your end equals bad results for the caller. They're left without anyone to threaten without one.

Got a pre-recorded call from a foreign accented man claiming he is Steve Martin and is from the US Treasury.  Also said If I don't call him back to make some kind of arrangements they will do judicial action.  What a joke.  I got the same identical recording about a year ago.  I'm sure they will call again.  These guys are so lazy looking for low hanging fruit they didn't even bother recording a new message.

Never return the calls.   Returning the calls makes them think they have a possible victim and they hit you with even more calls.

I received a call from Steve Martin from U.S. Treasury.  He wanted to collect 6,500 from me for a debt that I "owed".  The scary part is that he wanted to sent an officer to my home address to pick it up rather than the usual Western Union scam.  Do they have my address I wonder?

Same crap for me.  He was funny in his movies.  Why did he move on to scamming people?  Is the movie business slow?  I loved Father of the Bride.
