The "brain...head" comment was totally useless and demeaning.

I, too received a new Droid phone and was transferring my accounts last night.  I use the 2-step verification, so when the call came in with the code number, I paid no attention to the incoming #, just keyed in the code and completed the process.

This morning I saw an unfamiliar number, listed under 'Missed Call', and dialed it--busy signal.

After reading these comments, I realized what it was and am glad to have an answer to the 'puzzle'.

it is google no.when your account access from other country that time code verification is ask.and this code verification code got from this no.

A guy i meet thrugh the internet told me that was his number, i been haveing conversation with him. He is supost to been going to school in UK Londong, I don't want to sound stuped. But everybody in here said that this number is from google. My question, could this be the person that is doing the scams? This guy is supost to be an engenier, and if it is like that, How can this people be captiore, busted? I am sorry if I mist spell some words, but english is not my languege.

Just received the call from the number few mins back...all same ..no sign up no accounts ,nothing ...what the hell is happening out ...

this person has called as late as 11:18 pm!!  telemarketers calling this time of the day is unheard of..only the number pops up on your caller id..i have never answered the calls .

just received a call from that number, i don´t know if it´s from google or not but it´s really [***] up, i´m from Costa Rica, i´ve been with my gmail acount for years and never entered my phone number on internet and my good old crappy samsung isn´t even an android device...so WTF?!...

put the location as US
i'm from the uk
i got a call just now from this number
and he/she was playing weird things like the lion king and a squeeky voice thing.......
trouble is, is that it's american and i can't get hold of them:/

I am getting calls from this number often

It gave me a code and then hung up. I called it back and it is busy. I have no glue to why they would be calling. My number is private and unlisted. I do not give out this number for any reason.

My dear. Of course you don't have a "glue" (sic). But you should have a clue that this happens whenever you trying to access your Google account. This is part of the 2 step verification process that Google has started and it is you that turned that feature on. If you don't want it just turn it off.

I received a call from 650-353-9140 which gave me a verification code for Google gmail.  This was expected.  About an hour later I received a 2nd call that started out with a recorded voice saying "This is your captain speaking..."  and appeared to be giving me information about cruises.  This is particularly annoying, as the call was to my cell phone

Got called 2x cannot get voice mails, Facebook was already signed up to my Ph # Skype keeps running. This phone is hacked.
