Good point!  You should call and cancel your number from the DNC Registry post haste.  That way all of the legitimate American businesses who are registered with the FTC and are NOT calling and for whom the DNC was created and intended for,  can start calling you along with the crooks and criminals who are NOW calling.  Maybe that will improve your situation.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Supposedly this number originates from Red Wing.  Could be.

Caller ID "V..........." ... JAN 05 at 4:57pm Eastern time. This call was blocked after the first ring on my phone by a free service available to most Internet-based VoIP phone service users(I have Time Warner).

Do yourself a favor; just hang up the telephone.  A recorded message that stated my "Medical Alert Bracelet" was ready to be shipped.  Personally, I did not order one, nor did I express any interest in such gadgets.  These businesses prey on AARP members.

ID reads RED Wings!!  no message!

It is 8:15 and received a call from this number.  Did not answer and did not leave a message.

Scam call. Had a call from this number at 9:30 PM this evening. Caller ID location said from Red Wing Minnesota. Since it was after 9:00 and I have relatives near that location I didn't expect it to be a solicitor so I answered it. Was a recording of a man saying my medical alert was ready to be shipped and to press 1 on my phone. I just hung up. Wish they would shut these scammers down!

Scam call.  These scammers spoof numbers and tend to change them out on a weekly basis.  We also got a call with the ID listed as being our number - so must be one of the many variations of the scam.  

I got a call from this # at 8:20 p.m.  I didn't hear my phone ring but if I don't know a #, I don't pick it up anyways. No message was left. I deleted the #.

Wait; you still have a phone you can slam the receiver down with? I'm so jealous.

1/6/15 --received a call from this number .. looked a caller id.. shows a V+ long number. maybe it is the typical India/ Pakistan SE Asia robo call .. dont know . i am in Illinois.. let answering machine pick it up.. no msg left -- surprise
