I'm Brad Davis from Tec Squad and I am calling to inform you about the latest alarms and alerts being downloaded into your computer. They are being done without your knowledge from some sites or adds you have clicked on and I can show them to you and show you how to get rid of them. He told me how to display the screen that contains all alerts and alarms. He wanted me to try to erase some of the alarms and alerts, which I could not do, just like he had told me.Then he wanted me to allow him to access my computer so he could show me how to erase these alarms and alerts. I know these alarms and alerts are generated when you need to do updates, you tell the computer to do something and it fails to do it, you try to download something and it fails, Etc, not from some site or add you clicked on. I did not allow him access to my computer, at which point he said his name was Brad Davis from Tec Squad Service, located in Gastonia, NC., his phone number to be contacted at was 704-964-6461 and I could Google him if I wanted to incase I changed my mind and wanted to get his help later. He gave me the same sales pitch, same procedures for  me to perform on my computer, then let hem have access to my computer, etc., just like all the other callers, I. T. Solutions, Microsoft Technical Support, Etc. This is a scam just like all the rest.

I never answer a number I don't know and folks I'm doing business worldwide! All those numbers are going straight into a file name CRAP1 crap 2 crap 3 on my cellphone.

Older people get scared. OF course they are at one point they are returning in time and act like children. What about educate them as well. Caller ID have not been created for the blind...YOu don'T know the number? well don'T answer!

The caller kept pushing for information about my company.  She said they needed to update their records on customers of Gasket Specialties. I never bought anything from Gasket Specialties.

661-748-0241 called me today and left voicemail. The voicemail was nice enough, and I'm thankful they left voicemail instead of just calling and hanging up like most people. Anyway, someone with a very distinct Indian accent left voicemail about gowebbaby.com and wanted to know if I would be willing to outsource work to them.

Her name is Natalya Semenova, she is my online girlfriend in sokolova. She needs my help financially to get her to the airport so we can meet and be together. I have about 20 saved letters between us to prove it. And she just called me, and we talked for 6 minutes. She has the sweetest voice just like the site of her pictures.

She's a scammer.  She wants your money to share with her husband and kids.  The picture you saw isn't her.  She will ask for more money and keep asking for more until you finally catch on.

Someone called me today with an Indian accent from this number and said he worked with Microsoft.  He said I was a Windows Explorer customer (correct) and that my computer has been hacked. He can fix it for me for $200.  Actually my email has been hacked and people are getting error messages when they send me an email.  So it looks like a scam where they mess with your computer, then call and extort money to fix it.  Boy, if I say yes once I will get on every sucker list in the world!

Now THIS is really weird... I used Skype to call my cell phone since I could not find it in the house. Stupid me left the phone on silent, so a lot of good that did. But when I found the phone and checked messages, the number above is what showed up. Kinda odd, with everyone saying it was Legal Aid, or some Indian guy. I can assure you, my Skype calls are not used for either. Can anyone give any clues as to why my Skype call to my cell phone matches the numbers you all have been experiencing? The transfer location for the area code is, according to Wiki: Area code 661 is a California telephone area code that was split from area code 805 on February 13, 1999. It covers the majority of California's Kern County, as well as part of Los Angeles County, Santa Barbara County, and Tulare County.

Principal cities in the 661 area code are Bakersfield, Palmdale, Santa Clarita, and Lancaster.

Called first from 661-748-0240.  Leaves no message.
No way to trace it back.  So I blocked it.

Afterwards, it started to call from 661-748-0241

So if you've read a majority of the posts, you've already realised... this is a Skype-Out general public number. This means the caller behind the line is using Skype, not necessarily an actual phone, to call you and calling it back will result in reaching an automated greeting that explains that the Skype user cannot be called back over the phone in the manner you did.

If you don't want these messages, follow these simple steps to keep this from not happening often:

    1. Let them know they're not welcome. It's not the best first tip because not everyone will be obedient if their intent is malicious. If a business contacted you with this number, as we know it as "telemarketing", they are in violation of Skype's fair usage agreement and are subject to penalties and account termination from Skype - keep that in mind, you can report that to Skype if you have all the information (including call time w/ time zone, Skype's phone number, their identification as much as you know about them, and your phone number that received the unwanted telemarketing call.) You can write up a report to them by contacting Skype through their website's support sections.

    2. Block them. Some phone providers and virtual (VoIP) phone providers give you the opportunity to downright block the unwanted numbers. Keep in mind, that means Skype callers can't contact you over the phone either.

    3. Remove your phone number from publicly available sources when you find them. Skype is usually the first one because people tend to include their phone number on their Skype profiles. It only takes merely a few clicks (and a few credits or a subscription) to begin a Skype call to your phone. If you're a business, then it's best to ignore it or block it when you can.

    4. When all else fails and you feel your life is in danger or you are being harassed to a point where you can't even get a good night's rest anymore (which does, indeed, damage your mental and bodily health), contact your local law enforcement. Be sure to give as much detail to them as possible, as they will need it to nail down the offender and better serve you to stopping those unwanted calls.

I hope the tips I have given above helped you. If you can forward these messages to any other Skype-Out number you may find, please do so. There's no need to credit me because it's information that the human world should know as part of "Internet 101" at this point.
