Received call on my cell phone from 682.217.1114 @ 1:24pm CT on 10/19/2015. There was no CID info reflected.  I am not familiar with the number so did not answer. The caller did not leave a message.

Debt collector.  Trying to collect on a debt that had already been  "written off".

I have a freight order that was suppose to go through Arlington so I thought that might be the call.  I was not home so I could not answer.  Evidently it was not the call I expected according o all the people here.
This is only my personal generic information about unwanted calls.  I am only trying to help out here (to those naysayers who complain about my long winded rant).

                                   Telemarketers

DON'T ANSWER UNKNOWN CALLS (If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know, number not on this great web site, just call them back).

DON’T HAVE YOUR NUMBER REMOVED! (When you press the number to have your number removed, you confirm that your number is a working number and your known active number is sold to another scammer).

ROBO CALLS: There are 800 area codes with 9,999,999 numbers. Since Robots call every number in succession, they don't need to buy lists from anyone. The FTC receives 250,000 to 300,000 complaints per month, with robocalls responsible for around 60% of those complaints.

TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HOME PHONE: block, use call forward selective to 216-025-0434 (gives them a recording saying its disconnected) , or save calls to a phone address book as spam with a description (spam medical, spam alert, spam microsoft), and continue using this great site for information. MY HOME PHONE (Panasonic Link2Cell Bluetooth® KX-TGH263B LCD/2 Handsets) BLOCKS 250 NUMBERS AND THE ADDRESS BOOK HOLDS 3,000 numbers and the phone talks to you and says spam from across the room (like if you are up on a ladder or disabled).  As of September 2015 I have saved 313 names as spam and don't answer them.

TELEMARKETING:  (and I quote) "The Center for Investigative Reporting joined two news organizations in an investigation of groups that use telemarketers to raise money and found that most of the money is paid to telemarketers, leaving the charities with little, if anything. (3% in some cases)

Not only that but reputable charitable organizations don't solicit donations by phone.

I was waiting for a call and was surprised to see the 682 area code. I answered it anyway. It was a robo call telling me I won a free cruise to the Bahamas.

Why are the other posters here getting calls on so many other subjects, including debt collection? Someone else won a free cruise to Florida. I got the Bahamas! Can't the phone companies simply shut off that phone number? Forever?

I see my Google Voice BLOCKED a call from this number about 6 hours ago....

OF COURSE, more scammers---best way to beat them is---
DO NOT ANSWER---they will be out of business if no one answers these calls.

Yep, but, when you're a job seeker or the # looks similar to one you know, it gets tricky.  Wish autodialing equipment was illegal & autodialing & spamming was a federal offense - 10 yrs in the pokey minimum.

Robo vacation resort call promising Disney all inclusive for five days if you register your credit card with them for incidentals. Bored, went through the whole robo thing just to mess with the verification rep. Strung him along for half an hour. Poor bas&^%$d
