called work-issued cell phone. Robo-caller excitedly explained that I'd been chosen to win a trip to the Bahamas!!  **click**blocked number**

I have been getting calls from this number maybe 6 calls in 2 months. I usually don't answer but I have a couple times and it is just a dead line.  I have since gotten more calls and haven't answered and they have not left message. I live in the area so the number is local therefore I answered. It seems that it is a robo caller and if you answer once they keep calling. I wish I searched this site the first time I made the mistake of answering.

Received call at 3:13pm on Jan 19. Answered and the caller hung up. Returned the call and was robo-informed that the survey was now complete, and if I wanted to be removed from the call list, to press 9--which I did. Then Robo said I had been removed, and hung up.

Received a call on my cell. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. Whoever it was hung up without leaving a message.  The number is on my "auto-reject" list now.

Caller ID said "Arlington, TX".  I did not answer.  They did not leave a voicemail.  After reading this site, I think this is a SPAM call.

Received a couple calls from this number within a few days. Blocked the call after reading other posts about the number.

Turned up on call log as missed call, don't know anyone in this area code.

I asked on cell call from 682-217-1114. It started out with "Do you have a moment to talk?" I said yes, Then it started an automated sales pitch about how I had won a 4 night/5 day all-inclusive trip and asked if I wanted to hear more about it. I responded not interested and it repeated the question so I hung up.

This number called today. Since it is an unknown number, I didn't answer it. Thanks for the information about this number.

Same story as everybody else. This number called my cell around 7 PM. Caller ID only says "Texas." I didn't answer; caller did not leave a message.

Was discussing this entire robocall problem with some friends the other day. One guy had a beautiful solution. Commercial callers must be required to deposit a credit of 25c or 50c or $1.00 to the account of every person they call. If I'm a scammer and I call your number, I therefore must reimburse you for a portion of your phone bill.

Spam caller.  Spam calls automatically-do-not-ring:  On my cell phone, I've installed "Call Blocker Free - Blacklist" by NQ Mobile Security.  It is useful for non-business phones to only accept calls from phone numbers I want, incoming unwanted calls automatically do not ring  (rings on the spam caller end of the call, but not the recipient end and shows in the app instead of the phone call log).  I go to the app>Main screen>Funnel icon>Blocking mode> change it to:  "Accept ONLY FROM WHITELIST and CONTACTS".  Add the phone numbers you wish to receive calls from to your Contacts (keep your Contacts up-to-date as normal) and/or add non-contacts that you wish to receive a call from to the app Whitelist.  With my phone carrier service, I also turn voicemail OFF  so that it doesn't pickup a spam call after its set time to record.
UPDATE:  I'm liking "Call Blocker" by embware better for the same and additional capabilities.  It has the added aility to add a blocked non-spam number chosen from the blocked call log to the unblock-whitelist, with a name so I know the name associated with the phone number. And, it has the added ability to allow one-click-calling  a whitelisted-allowed number.  If you want to download it from google play, it has a 'B' on a padlock icon. I change the call setting from "block private number" (hidden callerID) to allow "phonebook only" (only allow incoming calls from Contacts and Whitelist). The latest embware version changed to a 10-second delay to open (demo) but seemingly fully-working version.
