- Sam BJust like the others - one ring then a hang-up.
- Caller: ???
- Annoyed in the East Coast. My cell phone rang only once. No message. I wish an appropriate review would be conducted on these type of calls with a scam pattern.
- stephThey called at 8:34 PM. Rang twice and they hung up.
- Caller: Redemption Center
- Call type: Telemarketer
- daveFound this number as a missed call on my company work cell phone. If what previous posters have said is correct, then the sales pitch is complete BS. My company cell is used for nothing but work and is not associated with anything else.
- BillyRang once.
- Caller: Dunno
- rockthis is [***] spam/scan/phishing. try to get off their list or ignore.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Dave| 1 replyWould get a call here and a call there from various numbers, so I added my number to the do not call list and when I did that my phone started blowing up with calls. WTF? From not just this number but many others as well....Guess they got my number from the list of the do not call list of numbers! :-/
- dianeOne ring and a hang up
- William E Jones replies to DanI could not agree with you less. Since I put ALL of our phone numbers on the DO NOT CALL list, the number of calls per week (around 7-10) has dropped to around 2 per month. Not perfect, but a heck of alot better than before.
And yes I did get a call from the 7510 number on my cell, transferred to my land line and only one ring. Also the cell number is only given out to family and never used as alt for any business. - Dave replies to mareuse "calls blocker" app on your smartphone. Works for me and any number I put into it, is blocked. For fun, sometimes I answer and quietly say the following, "The job is complete but there is blood everywhere!" and then hang up! LOL
- lc replies to DaveOf course they did! The DNc list is a telemarketers and scammers dream list. It provides all of the numbers of those who would be most receptive to receiving unwanted phone calls and obviously the most inclined to pay collectors, purchase sight unseen products or be suckered by scammers. Why else would millions of people put their numbers on a list that screams out "Don't Call ME" if they weren't the ideal list for those companies and scammers seeking to enhance their profits thru such a fertile list of known buyers. This list of openly hostile people, who hate telemarketers so much that they went through the effort of signing up with the FTC/DNC, would be much more profitable than purchasing a list of known suckers from some pay Day Loan racket..
- len replies to Rosie| 1 replyRosie, Registering on the DNC list doesn't do anything but put your number on a LIST that is maintained by the FTC and required to be purchased by FTC Registered businesses who use telemarketing for their business.
It is just a "List of people" who don't want to be called by sales people. The DNC doesn't monitor, screen, or block any unwanted calls. Your name is simply placed on a list, referred to as the Do Not Call List, by the FTC, and is required to be purchased by telemarketing businesses who are registered with the FTC as Legitimate Telemarketers ....Nothing more. It's not a super computer nor is there an army of government employees. It is a part of the FTC. It is only a "List". - hammerwhy can't anyone stop these dumb people from calling our cell phones. this is only a scam caller.
- hammer to Ici think you hit the nail on the head. that's how they do it.
- JanGot a call late into the middle of the nite, left no message. I had no idea who it was so I didn't answer. Figured it was a telemarketer and if I answered they would have my number and then I would get 1,000's of call's. I also registered with the famous "Do Not Call List"...so much for that!
- Caller: T-Mobile
- Cutlerville calleeOne ring, then hang up. No name. Prosecute to the fullest extent of the law!
- margo msame as all above, rang once then hung up.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- OPPcalled but i did not answer, no voicemail
- Kathy wildUnwanted call
- Carl Neal replies to lenI also completely disagree with your statements about the national DNC list. As a former Call Center Manager, let me tell you how that list helps you. Once you register, if you get additional sales calls (bill collectors can ignore the DNC list - it only applies to solicitation calls) you can file a complaint with the FCC (NOT the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) but the Federal Communications Commission. If the FCC investigates and confirms your claim (which they almost always can) - especially if the same company makes multiple calls to you - then the offending company can be fined $20,000 for EACH call they make.
Yes, those fines are levied against companies all the time. I have had one of my own call centeres audited by the FCC (we came out ok, but I believe there was still over $20k fine for one incident).
If you put your number on the national DNC list and continue to get calls, make sure that you:
1) Keep a log of every solicitation call that comes in on a line you listed (cell or land line, it doesn't matter).
2) Whenever possible, get the name of the person who calls, their call back number, and the name of the company for which they work (that last one can be nearly impossible with some solicitors).
3) Tell each caller that your number is on the national DNC list and that they are to never call again. If they give you grief, ask you to fill out a form, or speak to a supervisor, or any other nonsense, let them know that you are reporting both the caller's company and THE CALL HIM/HERSELF PERSONALLY. That's right - the person who makes that call is also in line for a fine for violating the DNC list. Individual employees rarely get fined, but just the threat is often enough to end the calls.
4) If the calls continue, contact the FCC and file a complaint. You will not get any money personally, but you can cause the offending company far more pain than they have caused you. The FCC has even shut a few companies down, but that's extremely rare.
And have fun - knowing the rules makes the conversation with phone sales people far more entertaining.
