No, you weren't "removed". You let them know there's a "live" dummy at your number.  Don't ever return a call to these numbers--they're looking for fresh meat.

Called amd hung up, returned the call and got the $100 rebate card offer. Hung up and added to the block list.

On android phones long press the number in your call log and select Reject List. This will auto block any call backs.

find their address and send them an invoice for your time. After 90 days send it to collections. You will find that with $250 lawyer fees you will win in court and get thousands back. a little effort goes along way. You can search what I just typed and will find many people do this every year. It helps to get a few hours of time added up but whos to say they didnt waste that much productivity in just a few calls? :)

Exact same. I went thru the motions. At the end they wanted a 10 dollar processing fee. With a voucher to reimburse for the shipping. That makes no sense?!?!

I started getting these calls after I purchased a Flashlight Friend stuffed animal for my son. Finally, I got so fed up that I called them back and unleashed he** on the guy who answered. He said, "Oh, I'm so sorry. The call was just to let you know that your order has shipped." After I apologized, he said, "Oh, by the way, we are also offering a program that gives you discounts on restaurants......". I told him "no" and not to call me again. That did the trick for about 3 weeks. Now I'm getting the calls again.

    Fed Up
They call and let it ring once or twice to verify the number is a working number.  Then they can call and annoy everyone and they can sell it as a working number to others of their scummy ilk.

Many of these telemarketers are based outside the U.S. They're not covered by the Do Not Call list which only applies to U.S. based calls.
