- AlexCalls my cell late at night. Doesn't leave a message and I won't pick up because I'm not wasting my minutes on them. Go away!
- FaustoSeveral calls per day. I don't answer, and am about to file a complaint with the Do Not Call people (though I don't know what good that would do).
- turnerkeeps calling my house phone and hangs up when i answer the phone:( don't call my house phone again:(
- KamHas called daily @ 7:30 at night. I don't pick up. Tempted to call them back and see just who they are.
- Amy| 3 repliesI just called the number back, if you call it back they explain who they are. If you press 1, it will place you on the no call list. Hope that helps!
- Amanda| 1 replyPenn State looking for an alumni donation
- SusanHas called at least 4 times day & night without leaving a message. Caller ID lists as Arlington VA
- Yo Mama| 2 repliesSCAM?? Don't call these numbers back. It only confirms to the caller that it is a valid number. Usually they have you press a number to be removed from a list. What you don't know is tht you probably just authorized someone to tag some kind of monthly charge on to your phone bill. In store at AT&T rep told me he has several people a day come in that have multiples of these recurring charges on their bill that they never remember authorizing.
- Yo Mama replies to AmyMight have been a mistake to press 1. Likely a scam getting you to authorize a recurring charge on your phone bill. If I were you I'd take a close look at my bill.
- a reasonable person| 6 repliesIt isn't a scam........ If you don't want to be called, tell the caller to place you on the DO NOT CALL LIST. then DON'T HANG UP because they are going to ask a question about how long you'd like to be on the DO NOT CALL LIST. If you hang up before you heard AND answered the question, you'll be called back a few months later during the next calling cycle. However, if you say "I'm not interested" and hang up, they are definitely going to call you back because you don't really know why they are calling so you don't know what you aren't interested in. It's literally about two minutes of your time. Imagine how they feel talking to people that don't want to talk to them ALL DAY. A few minutes of torture may actually convince you to help out a worthy cause.
- Caller: Directline Technologies
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Goslowla| 2 repliesPhone number currently listed as being from Falls Church, VA.
This is one of those "for profit" and "non-deductible" (from your taxes) "fundraisers." They solicit $ for "groups" that are NOT registered as legitimate charities. IT'S NOT ABOUT BEING A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION OR SOLICITING FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.
While you can call the above listed phone number back (because they're cagey enough to force YOU to call them so they can then runaround the various do not call laws) and request to have your specific, unblocked telephone number removed from being called, the fundraiser company will simply begin calling your phone number from another telephone number & thus the process begins again.
Do not support companies of this nature and hope that sooner or later the FCC, state governments, etc. have the time to pursue these nuisances which operate outside the bounds of decency.- Caller: Fundraiser
- cpcCalls evenings but never leaves a message.
- Joe replies to a reasonable person| 2 repliesimagine how they feel....REALLY?. They are bugging hundreds of people every shift. You must be a telephone solicitor to say something so irritating to all of us that are being bothered by unsolicited calls.
- julie replies to JoeYeah, he does seem to stick up for them, doesn't he?
- Flo| 1 replyPenn State Alumni Association looking for donations! I don't answer the phone cause I feel bad telling my alma matter no!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- julie replies to FloPenn State Alumni calling from Virginia??
- TheDaveO| 1 replyIn my case they're soliciting on behalf of the UCLA Alumni Association. That area of VA is a major telecom hub, so no surprise that there are call centers there. They probably contract their service to UCLA and Pennand other organizations and businesses. Regardless, the calls are a form of harassment as far as I am concerned!!
- Caller: Unknown

- SL replies to TheDaveOthey keep calling me too, from UCLA Alumini Association. Thye need stop!
