I get calls from this number mentioned 2-3 times per day... I purposely never answer if it's not from someone I do not know... hence the repeated phone calls everyday. I saw the response to contact from Paul Gilford,
Executive Director, himself or Katrina Chance Ad. Serv. Coordinator to be taken OFF their telemarketing list BUT if one calls will you REALLY be taken off? I've never donated to them... give to my charity of choice where I know it goes SOOOO please, STOP harassing people when they ask to be taken off the list!!

I spoke to Paul Gilford after reading his post to contact him to be removed from the list.  The company I work at has 10 lines and he had me email the 10 phone numbers to him and said he will have his assistant remove them from their list.  Hopefully this will work and they stop calling.

These are almost certainly burglars trying to find out if you're at home. If you don't answer, they presume that you are. If you get their call, answer the phone, but don't speak. You might prevent a break in by doing this.

That's a bit far-fetched, don't you think? How would they know if you're home or not when they call a cell phone?

Wow, they must be really good burglars if they have been using this tactic since at least mid-2011 and still have not been caught.  I guess that posing as a charity has helped them over the years (just look at all the previous posters that they have completely bamboozled).

Fortunately, you have shared your wisdom about how to protect ourselves from them.  And it is so amazingly simple: do not answer the phone and they will think you are home, but if you do answer the phone but do not speak they will also think you are home.  So, does that mean that if you answer the phone and speak to them they will come to burgle your home?

I suggest that you actually read the previous posts made here and you will realize that your paranoid theory is way off.

They are a donation center for National Children's Cancer Society, and Disabled American Veterans. They pickup so people will not have to go out of their way. I donate to them about every 2 to 3 weeks, but if I can't one week, I just answer and tell them so, and they stop calling until the next round of pickups. However, yes, if I don't answer they call EVERYDAY, MULTIPLE TIMES a day.

Caller ID says Family Thrift- didn't leave message.  We usually donate to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Received a call from 713-696-5500- Caller ID says Suspected Spam.  Reading the previous comments, aka Clothing Donation. We have received numerous calls from this number- never leave messages. We have not donated to this group- we typically donate to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

I blocked this number long ago. Still they call virtually every day. It's a scam charity. No legitimate charity attempts to raise money by cold calling people. The fund raising costs are far too high. Only people benefiting from this scam are the scammers. Please don't fall for it.

Dearest Paul Gilford:  You may well be a real charity (or NOT); however, I am not going to waste my time calling "713-868-1943".   I have blocked you guys and no longer am interrupted by your calls.  Needless to say, my time is MY time, not yours or anyone else's.  It's just that simple.
