I too have recv'd calls from this number, and they are automated. i have no intentions of calling back. it's all bs.

"Jack Dawson" has been calling me multiple times a day, telling me that I owe $1400 from a hospital visit over 5 years ago.  I PAID this bill, and he is demanding proof of payment.  It seems like a scam, but and he is pushy and threatening.  I was shaking after the phone confrontation I had with him.

I just moved to a new house and got a new phone number. Since then, I have been getting phone calls from  a "Robert Stovall" saying there is a claim against me and asked me to press "0" or call back. I never call back, because I figured if there is really a claim against me, I should have gotten a certified letter or something in the mail. I have no doubt this is a scam.

They call once a day and I'm sick of it.

Left voice message stating it was imperative that I return this call that once again, we have records you are associated with this individual and we need to speak with you.  Tired after work, looked this up, it sounded criminal that is the only reason I looked this up.  If that important send certified letter.

We keep getting calls, will not leave a message, my husband picked it up once when we just happened to be walking in the door, but it was just dead air (no person or recording). We have no idea what they want.  We live in Houston, but that still does not tell us anything.

They sent me a demand letter which I received yesterday.  This pertains to the amount of %51.73 who they said was owed to TMC Orthopedics, in Houston, from February 2008.  TMC Orthopedics is 3 miles from my house.  They had never contacted me.  The debt collection agency had also tacked on $64.00 for an administration fee.

The $51.73 was the amount that we had overpaid TMC Orthopedics.  Our insurance company had pointed this out and we were issued a credit to our Visa, in April 2008, when we gave the information to TMC.  I have all of my records and will address this with TMC Orthopedics today.

This agency had left several calls on our answer machine, which we never returned because the message would say that they were calling regarding a debt owed.  They never said who they were calling specifically and we thought that it was a wrong number and never returned the call.

I had received a call today from my parents, saying this company called me and to return their call at 1-866-776-3415 and ask for a Frank Brooks. Keep in mind when this company called my parent's house, they asked specifically for me. I blocked the number I was calling from, and called them back. I spoke with this Frank Brooks, who just called my parents no more than 10 minutes prior. I told him I received a message to call him back. He kept asking for the phone number they called, I wouldn't give him the number, and he said he never called, after I gave him my name. He persisted on getting a phone number from me. I told him he just called and gave him my name again. Once again he needed a phone number. So he finally said oh wait, do you know a Gary? I replied no. Then what about a William? I said no. You just called my parents house, specifically asking for me..now nobody knows who I am.  So I got aggravated and just hung up. All they wanted to know was a phone number. A cell phone? A work phone? They are stupid if they think I am going to give them this information! Are they real? A scam? They never told me I owed a bill or anything, hell they couldn't even find me in the system.

These are bottom feeders.  They have one sorry attorney who cannot cut it in normal litigation so he leases his attorney license and lets people work on his name. They go around trying to either buy old debt and bully and scare people into giving them money. The sad thing is, most of the time, people dont owe money at all or its been wrtten off. If these people give them money, they revive the debt and make it worse.

I dont know where they got my name and number, but dont ever give them information and if you get another call it will be from a different person, they just pass the docket around the office and try different tactics and different stories. They may even threaten that they are going to sue me (from out of state even, which doesnt fly, but the average joe doesnt know that).

If they dont say "By law, I need to inform you this is an attempt to collect a debt, any information gathered will be used for that purpose". they must state that BEFORE they go any further. You give them anything, a credit card, a bank account anything, you are done for!

These Guys are Identy Thieves. They are looking for names and SSN's

I believe these guy's are Identy Thieves pfishing for Names & SSN's. I have had two of these calls what ever you do don't talk to them.

Calling to collect some money. Tell some wrong names for bills. I told them not to call otherwise I will take legal action.

This was 3rd call.
I hope I don't get another. If I am it will be reported to approperiate authorities.

A message was left on our home machine saying they need to talk to us about someone we know and to press zero or call them back. It seemed vaguely threatening and surely suspicious.  I'm glad I looked it up and thank everyone for commenting on these calls.

I've been getting calls from this # and a recording.  I used to work for a bank and I worked very closely with the collections department.  

ok, so, collections agencies use real reps.  They do not use a recording.
 
#2 Collection agencies do NOT take credit cards-EVER.  The only means of payment they can recieve is auto-withdrawl from your bank account, check, and debit card.  DO not give these people your credit card info!

#3 Yes, there is a statute for collections.  Depends on the amount of money, however, a company will either write it off if it's a small amount or take you to court.  I can tell you, there's no way they'd wait 5 years to get their money.

I received a phone call stating that a claim has been filed against me.  I will not call this number back.  I am also on the national no call list.  Why are they calling?  I read reports on this number and everyone has said it is a scam.

this call continnues to come to our house and my mother's. this is BS. both of us have no outstanding debt. thousands of posts online sick of this. stop them please. also we are both on the do not call list. i am about to cancel my land phone line becuase I am so tired of this phony crap.

I got a recording on my answering maching and its the 1st call I have recieved. Immediatly I thought it was weird that it was a recording, so googled the phone number and found these post....

It sounds like a sorry excuse for a law license...people put it to good use...what a shame!!!

I get a call from this guy every day, and I usually don't answer.. Today I did, and they said there was  claim that had been filed with their office and I needed to give them my side as soon as possible. I am thankful that I found this site, because now I can just ignore it completely..still seems like a pain in the (you know) that I have to put up with daily calls from some sort of con man.

Recived a recorded message from Robert Stovall about a claim against me and he sure would like to hear my side of the story.  Message said press zero or call back to 1-866-776-3415.  Message sounded kind of threatening, so I pressed zero. The person asked for my phone number, which I did not give.  I asked him what the company was and what they do?  He said they do all sort of things and he needed my phone number so he could be sure I got the right information.  I asked him again what the company does...got the same answer.  I asked him if it was to do with a legal issue?  He said I didn't say it was legal... I told him then this conversation is over and hung up.  

Thanks for those who posted, so I know I'm not alone with this weird call. Is there anything that can be done to stop this company from doing this? We too are on the No Call List.
