Got a call from this number on Aug 16th. I did not pick up.

Got a call  from this number  but didnt pick it. They did not leave a message.

I received a call from this number on 8/16/10 10:21 am CDT. it was a computer generated message offering to lower my interest rate on my current credit cards, of which I have none. My caller ID showed that it was from Carolina.

This is how it all went down:
I got a phone call when I was swimming 2 months ago with my friend.
When I got out of the pool I checked my phone to see if anyone called
It said 1 missed call from 714-244-2302
I knew it was a scam
When my friend and I went back inside to play some Xbox they called him
It happened to be a 1 player game and we were going to take turns so I answered it
They told me to press 1 so I did and took about 1 min. to 1 1/2 min. untill I was speaking to a representative
Now, during that time I took my iPhone and looked the # up
I found out they were located it Orange, CA
This is how the conversation went:
Did you press 1 to lower you intrest rate?
I decided to play dumb and say "no"
Then they asked "did you press 1 to be on the do not call list?
I replied: I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW YOUR IN ORANGE, CA AND I'M COMING OVER THERE RIGHT NOW...Then I screamed in the phone...
they hung up :-(

ATTENTION:
I called this number today, to see what would happen (I got a call several months back) and a lady picked up. I hung up because I would have never expected that! I called 2 more times and one of those times, the lady said she received this number 2 days ago. I knew that was a lie. After that my friend spoke and said "This # is a credit card fraud and repeated it like 10 times" after, they would stop calling! they left a voice mail saying press 1 to lower your interest rate and so on....I knew they were still a fricken fraud!

Don't count on the number being where any of the reverse lookup sites say that area code belongs!
1. Spoofing the calling number is easy for any of these commercial scam phone banks
2. With phone number portability, you can get a number one place then "keep" it as you move elsewhere (scam artists love to do this)
