calll during dinner hour. we do not want telemarketing calls

I recieved a call from this number they played a piano and hung up. I am surprised others had reicevied calls too

I called the number back and it goes to an extension and you can leave a message.  I live in Canada and am surprised a California research company is calling here.

How are these calls getting through when you are on the do not call list.  I had to talk over the accented girl just to tell them to take us off the list.  Urrrghhhh!

This number called me I asked if they were calling from USA and she said she wanted to do a survey on restaurants.  I stated that if you are not calling from United States of America we would not answer any questions.  She called me a fascist and hung up.  WOW!

these people calling are scum-bags. when i asked to be put on a "Do not call list" they began to mimic me as if they were 5 year olds and as if I cared. Clearly they are ignorant imbeciles.

Do Not Call lists do not work.  They can still illegaly call you.

They've called several times from same area code but different number and now this number. All we get is a beep and then a hang up.  Do not call lists do not work as anyone can still call you, its illegal but they don't care.

Got FIVE calls from: Brea - 714-706-3200 last week all same day - first one said, "Hi, I'm with Clearview - we work with the gas co. and we'll be in your area....." at which point I interrupted and told her:  I'VE TOLD YOU 100 TIMES... I'M NOT INTERESTED - TAKE MY NAME AND NUMBER OUT OF YOUR DATABASE - STOP CALLING ME!  and I hung up.  Then, 4 more calls were made, one minute apart, which I let my answerphone take...no messages were left.

Got one more call the following day from same Brea number. I suggest you do as I did, and report them to the following:

1. Better Business Bureau (represents 4 counties in So. Cal) - 909/825-7280 - they have a growing file on Clearview
2.  Fed. Trade Commission (they'll add to their file of complaints also) 877/382-4357

Last, don't know what the rest of the company name is or what they do, EXCEPT CALL CONSTANTLY.

Scammers doing their thing to try and scam you. Looking for home owners, just hung up on them.

I got a call from them, stating that they were doing a survey from Costa Rica. They said that this was a survey for banks about advertising. He said he is calling from Costa Rica which I realised after that is not their country code. They asked questions about the ads that you have heard, which banks you prefer etc. Of course when they asked about household income and bank that you use I declined comment.
** This afternoon someone said that they got a call from our number, but we were not home.Odd I really hope these people have not used some high tech devise to get into our phone!! Beware!!

My husband also got one of these dumb calls.  What a waist of time.

Just received 3 calls in 30 min. The caller ID said "unknown name" so I let the machine answer. They left no message. Typical. My next stop is to report to Do-Not call registry

I have been getting calls from 714-706-3200 for weeks - always with "unknown name.  " stated on my caller ID.  They hang up when the answering machine clicks on,  Can this be stopped somehow?

When I answered with "Hello," the caller asked if I spoke Spanish. I answered that I did (I'm a native speaker of Spanish). His voice was grossly distorted and unintelligible, possibly made so by defective or inferior equipment, or by too close proximity of his microphone to his mouth. When I tried to advise him that his voice was too distorted to be understood, he hung up on me.

To quote Daffy Duck: "What a funny way to run a railroad!" I sure would not want to use the services of a survey company that operates in such an unprofessional and irresponsible way. Maybe they'll go out of business if things continue as described in so many of the entries on this web site.

Sadly you are correct, "illegitimate companies and scam artists won't respect these lists" and also sadly, the Caller ID information that the illegitimate companies provide is spoofed - that is to say it is not valid.  The end result is that you don't end up with a legitimate complaint to be able to file on the Do Not Call Registry.  I wish this weren't true, but it is - try calling one of these companies back.  Try to find information about them on the Internet - BBB, Contractor Licenses, Business Licenses, etc. and you will find that you don't have squat.  The phone number doesn't match the Business, or belongs to no one, or worse, to someone who gets hundreds of calls telling them to stop calling when they aren't.

In summary the illegitimate companies have found a way around the Do Not Call List and there isn't much we can do about it.

The DNC list was a successful effort by the Federal government to get people to voluntarily place their names in a big database. It saved them a lot of legal and logistical hassles in assembling the information. Ever wonder why just after 9/11 the government finally decided to crack down on all of those irritating sales calls? Wonder no more.  JMHO.
