- AshleyReceived so far at least 2 phone calls (that I actually answered). They called my cell phone from 716-213-4370 and Mr. Coleman was looking for me, I pretended to be my sister Michelle (I do not really have a sister). Mr. Coleman stated that Ashley has breached a contract and they need to speak to her immediately regarding case # XXXXXXX. I asked what information I could pass on to my parents to give to Ashley and he said that Ashley just needs to contact Tri-Financial at 716-213-4370 and reference the case #. He said this is a serious breach of contract and the company is going to be persuing this to the fullest extent of the law. So after todays phone call I decided to look tri-Financial up on the internet and try to see if I could find information on the case # he gave me (Michelle, Ashleys fake sister). I found various websites about this company all indicating they are a FRAUD. I do have financial problems and have retained a lawyer for bankruptcy, should I call them back and have them contact my lawyer? Or should I give the information to my lawyer and have them call the company? I dont know what to do, they keep saying its a serious breach of contract and they will be persuing it legally, I dont want to go to jail or anything, can they really do anything? I havent received anything in the mail and I live with my parents and have had the same address forever, in order for any legal action to take place they have to send some form of corespondence to my home, right? I have my wages being garnished by a repod auto loan, when they called they sent paperwork as well, shouldnt these people have to do the same things? HELP!

We have received calls from these folks because my husband has the same NAME as a debtor in California and one in Texas. They always ask for his SS# up front, which naturally we will not give. They do not cross check addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, or phone numbers. They are making their calls based on a first & last name match only.
We have no debts whatsoever and still receive such calls.
In North Carolina these collection agencies are required to register with the Insurance Commissioner, yep the Insurance Commissioner. We have been advised to ask (1) if the company is registered, and (2) for their registration number. If they refuse to give the number you can & should report them to the NC Insurance Commissioner. If they give you a number, check it out.
Do not allow yourself to be a victim of these type callers, take charge of the phone call by returning questions with questions, ask for supervisors, and never, ever give them a Social Security number.- Call type: Debt collector

You need to IMMEDIATELY report these thugs to the FTC for the following FDCPA violations:
1) Discussing the alledged debt with a third party, and:
2) Threatening to have you arrested.
https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ - Beverly| 4 repliesI have received four call's from TRI FI LLC. THey claim that they are Lawyers and are so mean both of the men that called me on behalf of CashNet USA. I asked for an exception form from both of these mean men. They both claim that they are Lawyers and have never heard of an exeption form in their fifteen years of being Lawyers. Both of these men accused me of committing fraud. They want $661.00 now. They have threatened me to the point of me crying and shaking. They kept saying that I commited fraud to get a payday loan from Cash Net USA. I have requested the four times they have called twice starting at approx. 8:50 P.M. the second call right before 9:00 P.M. The third at 7:30 A.m. And the fourth at 10:20 A.M. I am positive they will keep calling me and they will keep treatening me. They want my furniture and they state it is legal to go to this extent. They told me that they can call every 5 minutes today. For what I asked. To threaten me more. To say I commited Fraud and numerous other comments I cannot remember because I am shaking from fear of TRI FI LLC. What do I do? I am horrified that they talk to anyone that answers this telephone. They smear me to my friends. I am on ssdi from 5 different spine diseases. My whole spine had to be fused. I had an Intrathical pump placed in my abdomen in October the cather of this pump goes into my spinal canal an gives me continual medicine to numb the pain in my spine. I am not a Liar as these two men said and I did not commit fraud. They are committing Fraud I beleive by lying about who they are. The say they are lawyers and have practiced for 15 years. I desperatly Need Help. Beverly

He kept interrupting during this conversation. He kept asking, "So what are your intentions? " Over and over and over again. I TRIED to get a word in, he wouldn't let me... he hung up on me. I called back and asked for a Mr. Williams...funny... there is no Mr. Williams available. I spoke to another guy and he did the same thing. Threating me that they are going to summons me. - Paul M replies to Deborah LeboThis is an update of company Tri-Financial, they contacted a third party I didn't even know and told them I filled out a credit application with her husbands name as the co-signer. All this in an attempt to get in touch with me. The thing is they used my credit report to contact the people who bought my parents house 11 years ago and discussed my information with them. If anyone has dealt with this company please call this number 877-382-4357 and file a complaint. If we let this continue to happen they will continue to get away with it.
- BillThis company calls looking for my brother. The guy tells me he's not from a collection agency and when I tell Him I haven't heard from my brother in over a year he procedes to ask what's up with that. I tell him that it's rather personal and he then tells me "have a good dude" and hangs up. I'm upset, so I call the number on my caller ID, start to explain what happedned and I'm switched to someone else. She procedes to tell me to have a cup of coffee and calm down. I let her know I want my name removed from her list and she procedes to try to psycho-analyze me. Finally, I hung up after wasting anther ten minutes of my life.

- I know what i'm talking about replies to BeverlyI used to be a bill collector for 9 years so i know what I am talking about. FACT 1 They are not aloud to call you on a cell phone if you tell them to remove the number by law they have to. Fact 2 they are not aloud to say ANYTHING in a vm or any other message than their number and name all other information is illegal Fact 3 By law they are only aloud to call you 2 times a day if you leave a message and once a week if they talk to you. When you get transferd to a "supervisor" it is just someone sitting next to them. There are alot of laws protecting the debtor it is called FDCPA and this company is in violation.
- vegaprincess replies to bc| 1 replyMy father recieved a call from TRI. Same story as most others on this site. What I don't know is do I call the FTC or FBI if they haven't called my home (yet) or have my father do it since they are harrassing him for my information?
- no one replies to PM| 1 replycongratulations!! that's an impressive attitude to have. if no one were to contact you about a delinquent debt.. would you ever at any time rectify the problem? DOUBT IT! i pray for the future of our country and financial status that you do not teach these mannerisms to your children. absolutely pathetic. maybe they are "bill collectors".. i dont know, very possible. but also consider this- the more debts you incurr, the more collections jobs you create. the way it would seem if you think about it that way is, the only way to be rid of "bill collectors" would be to handle current lines of credit before they become a a collection matter. don't attempt to deny it, it makes perfect sense.
