- miz michelle| 1 replyautomated call. didn't listen to the whole thing. started out with, " this message is for cynthia..." No one here named Cynthia so I hung up. Caller ID said: Weinberg Grace
- Fed Up| 3 repliesPre Recorded Call from Zimmerman, Young & Associates about an item that was returned from my bank. I, or my counsel, can call back and give them a file number..
I can "voluntarily" take care of it by calling 866 410 8063. They stated it was in my best interest to call and that they expect a call back..
My bank is fine, call is crap and they have no Internet Presence or are listed with the NY Bar...sounds like a scam to me- Caller: Zimmerman, Young & Associates

- Cindyleft a message with my elderly mother stating that this was a call from a lawyer's office trying to locate me because of a bad check i wrote??? I looked at the caller ID later and the name appeared for Grace Weinberg at the above number. Looked number up and it appears that this is an invalid number with reverse phone directory. Probably another scam call!!!!
- Caller: Zimmerman Young and Associates the number appears on the caller ID as grace wein

- JasgalI received a call yesterday from them. I have no returned items from my bank. Tried to find information on the internet about them and could not find anything. Seems to me if they are a legal company they wouldn't be hiding. If this is a true debt they would mail me a notice and allow me the legal steps to take to validate the debt. I will consider them a scam until then and not give them any of my time.

- Dennis| 12 repliesGot a call today.from Zimmerman Young & Assoc. They said that they had an item returned from my bank, and to call 866-410-8063 to voluntarily take care of the matter. I called the # back and told I was speaking to Attorney Zimmerman. He informed me that a felony warrant had been issued, and I can either take care of it now or turn myself in for a check returned from my bank for Payday Loan Yes. Yes I did take a payday loan for $300.00. But after Payday Loan Yes withdrawing over $1000.00 I closed my account. And after many different debt collectors making threats of violence and intimidation, I reported Payday Loan Yes to my Attorney General in Missouri. After informing Zimmerman of this and that Investigator Kimberly Burk would be very interested in speaking with him and Payday Loan Yes, he informed me that I would no longer be receiving calls from his office. I called Kim and gave her the # to his office at which she called right away. Turns out they are not lawyers, ( imagine that ) and are not licensed to do business. I imagine Zimmerman was &*itting his pants by then.

- jasgal| 4 repliesGreat new Dennis, I am so glad you post this. Thank you. I will be contacting my AG in California about this. I believe this could be from old PDLs too but all mine have been paid or resolved I have written proof so I will be ready to fight.

- Dennis replies to jasgal| 3 repliesNo problem jasgal. I think if more people knew there rights and what to do, we could completely shut down these bottom feeders. Our AG in Missouri is awesome. Remember people, they work for the citizens that got them there in the first place.
- JasgalWell I got another call from them today. Not sure what to do with them now. I really dont want the calls. Any one here have any advise.

- TayJuna| 2 repliesI received a called from them earlier today and I finally returned the call a few minutes ago. They said that they were trying to come after me civil & criminally because of a bad check. I informed them that I had filed bankruptcy and my lawyer assured me that in the state of OK that this would be covered under my bankruptcy. He informed me that the orginal loan would be but the bad check was a case of it's own. I was giving really good advice by my lawyer and told him that this was just like me getting a credit card and not paying the bill, you can only sue me civilly, not criminally. He got an attitude and tod me that the sheriff would be to see me to serve the warrant or I could just do myself a favor and turn myself in. I called my local sheriffs office and was told that they have no warrants for me and that it is a crime for a lawyer (or one pretending to be) to use jail as a scare tactic. I called my lawyer and he has since called them, but they will not talk to him. So this is a SCAM! YOU CAN NOT BE JAILED FOR A PAYDAY LOAN, at least not in the state of Oklahoma!!!

- JasgalSo I called the Dept of Corp in Calif. The person there said that if I was not able to verify them online as a legal company and that I have had nothing go wrong at my bank that this is most likely a scam and they prey on scaring people to pay what they really dont owe. I have reported them to the FTC and I am going to be filing a complaint with the AG. The person also stated that they have to give you in writting full information about your debt also all of their contact information.

- DennisJasgal, you're going in the right direction. If they contact you again, you can inform them of your actions and demand that any correspondence from this point forward be in writing. They have to honor it as it is Federal Law. Tell them that you want the debt validated. They also have to honor that. Good luck and keep me informed if you wish.

- Concerned replies to Dennis| 10 repliesIt really concerns me that consumers who take out PayDay DO NOT READ THEIR CONTRACTS....PDL's automatically renew and that is why you ended up owing them $1,000 before you closed your account. That is the problem with this country....everyone thinks they can take out loans and not pay them back...and then when calls are made to collect on the debt everyone cries...FDCPA violation and contacts the AG.....omg...Come on Dennis, just be responsible and pay your debt! Remember 'IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO COLLECT ON A DEBT, BUT IT IS IMMORAL TO TAKE OUT LOANS AND NOT PAY THEM BACK"!
Have a great day! - Dennis is a [***] replies to Dennis| 2 repliesYa....citizens put the AG in office but we wouldn't need them if DEBTORS would just pay their debts and quit looking for ways to get out of it...isn't it kinda like stealing?????? IDK....call me crazy but it's the people like you that are "bottom feeders"!!!!
- Concerned replies to TayJunaReally...why is it everytime someone takes out a PDL and does not pay it back they cry "scam" when a collection agency tries to collect on it....what DEBTOR'S don't understand is when you DO NOT pay back any loan, the Creditor tries to collect and when they are unsuccessful the debt is sold to many agencies and whoever gets the DEBTOR to pay gets the money. It's that simple....so all this SCAM business is crazy....especially when someone like you admits they owe the debt, it would seem to me you are a SCAM....did you take out the loan so as not to intentionally pay it back...tsk tsk...filing bankruptcy...that is the biggest SCAM ever....rake up debt and then file bankruptcy...and look who is pointing fingers at hard working people just trying to collect legitimate debts.
I think all the DEBTOR's out there need to "MAN UP" and be responsible and just find a way to settle your debts!!!!! - missdcalled and threatened to have me arrested if I did not pay an outstanding debt from 2010 - they were rude and yelling at me......have no idea what they are talking about since I have no outstanding debts from that time period .... I called them back and they were still yelling that I was going to be arrested - told them never to call me again...

- just a referenceI received calls from them for my friend in another state across the country. She used my name and number as a refrence for a payday loan. My friend paid all the loans due and now Zimmerman says that they need a copy of a police report she filed in their county. They've never lived in NY! I found out don't call the number from the voicemail, call back the 716-335-9051. I did, pressed zero and got a live person. He was mean but I don't think he will call me again! Always ask your friends if they can be a reference for you. I'm just a refrence and these scammers called me.

- SueI have been on the receiving end of this type of call for about six months. This particular number just started calling last week. WE HAVE NEVER GOTTEN A PAYDAY LOAN OR EVEN CONSIDERED ONE. We are a hard working couple who both have jobs and have for more than 20 years! No matter what is said above, THIS IS A SCAM. Once I threaten that I am calling the FCC the company stops and another company starts calling with the exact same line. They never send any paperwork to the address they have on file (i have lived in the same place for 15 years) as I request and I have asked them to contact my atttorney (who is really not my attorney, just a friend who is an attorney) they never send anything. If they were legit, they would do both absolutely no problem. Sometimes, we are threatened with a sheriff coming to our door to arrest my husband (they can't even correctly pronounce the county we live in). Never confirm any personal info with them and never volunteer anything. Laugh at them on the phone. It pisses them off. Get real jobs, employes of Zimmerman, Young, and Associates/Grace Weinberg. You are trying to scare people out of their hard earned money!

- ladybugreceived a call at 1:28 PM, caller ID said Grace Weinberg. I do have caller ID, but since we have been out of power for the last 12 hours, I answered the call, hoping it had to do with the power outage. No one answered. Next call I get (and I am sure they will call again) I am not going to answer. I am also on the national do not call list, but that seems not to make any difference.
