Follow UP - Class Action Suit replies to Anyone up to sue these scumbags?
I contacted a Class Action Lawyer in San Diego, CA.  We have spoken and he said I definitely have grounds. Apparently though, a woman is already trying to start one against LHR Inc. elsewhere. I was also told, if one is successfully filed, they can be sued for up to $500,000.00, plus half of companies worth!!!  This is not about the money - but about the SCAMS they pull and the threatening of people's livelihood! They break the law every day, and I am sure there are senior citizens and uniformed people who get intimidated by them for fraudulent debts every day!

I don't have all the details and don't want to discuss because of the LHR scumployees on this site.

    I will update later.

Let Bud Hibbs know what is going on, for there isn't anything about LHR on his website (that I could find). I am sure that he will be more than happy to add them to his "Most Wanted" lists.

If you create the debt then you should take care of it...it shouldn't even be at the point of collections if someone owed you 1000.00 or more you would have there neck people do it over 20bucks so why complain about something you did........I had to learn the hard way they took me to court and got a judgement against me....Now I have 3 trade lines on my credit so don't be stupid and think they can't do anything to you.....Don't be "debtors" make the right choice

Why do LHR employees type in all caps? What an angry bunch. Do you guys only get paid if you nag some frightened granny into paying her son's bill? You know, the bill that you creeps have nearly doubled.

    I agree replies to David
Those last two posts were an LHR employee. They are scam artists... .I contacted a lawyer because they broke the law. He wrote a letter for me for free. They shriveled up back into their holes where they belong.

    Maggots ---
Maggots feed off of dead animals or discarded food.
    LHR Employees ---
LHR Employees feed of of dead debt or discarded charge offs.

    Anyone smell a resemblance?

But the worst thing is.. LHR are WORSE than maggots, because they create False debt that people do not have, and bully people into paying them.... I was called about 20 dollars from a phone company in Connecticut... Which I did not owe... well - guess what? I have not lived in Connecticut for over 15 years.  They bought a bill that was not credited when I relocated. They bought an error! Then tried to come after me for $800-. Funny funny people. They are Maggots. They are beneath you. They are not even on the evolution process of a human being. Don't trust them. They are bottom feeding slime. Not even worthy of being called a slug.

    Plain and simple.

I think we should get together and file a class action suit. My situration is different, they did not withdraw money from my bank account after an agreed settlement. Instead the file was sold to another collection agency.

    What the f#%$ is this.

I see a lot of venom from people here and on any credit related board. And I do understand it. I do not work for LHR but have done collections.
I don't see any benefit in giving out false info from your end. It is not illegal to contact a relative or a neighbor. There are limits as to how many attempt can be made.

A lot of venom about collectors being bottom feeding scum. That really adult of you. I have been on both sides of the phone and certainly, certainly agree that there are scumbags in the industry. Not everyone is however and please remember that. If they say they are going to sue you, they will. If they say it and they don't they are violating a law. Either way do you want to be sued? It's not worth the hassle and added expense when you could have settled your debt for less.

It is absolutely illegal to contact a friend of neighbor of a debtor and you may only call a person at their place of employment if you identify yourself, and only ask if a person is employed there, and if so, if you may speak with them.  Otherwise, its illegal, Willy.  Read the LAW!  It's all over the FTC website!

    its me again
I received a letter from an attorney willing to represent me in a lawsuit against LHR, the attorney got my information from the open records act.
I thought the blood-suckers were finished harassing me since it is not my debt, and have repeatedly told them to stop calling me.
Looks like I may have to sue if they call me after I write the cease and desist letter. How many ways can I tell them I am not the person they are trying to needle?
I have EXCELLENT credit. The debt is a family member's, and I am being besieged by debt collection *%#@%. JERKS.

    how old are you?
Most people here ARE THE PARENTS
I would rather whittle myself a beak and pick sh*t with the chickens than be a person who makes a living driving people with financial problems to insanity. Lowest form of life.

To bad they outlawed debtors prison.   For those of you who aren't the debtor I feel for you.   For those of you who are.  Think before you act.  Cease and desist letters can and will get a person sued.  So be careful.  A bill doesn't usually get sold until it's at least year a past due.  It's sold for pennies on the dollar because the person responsible skipped out on paying.  Hence the phrase skip tracing.  Pay on time or file bankrupcy.  Either way peoples credit gets screwed.  Its the cost of not paying.  Not payng doesn't prevent people from getting loans.  It's the difference of paying under $300 a month for that new car.  Not over $500 a month.  Maybe then people will get it.
