Hello. I got a call from these people saying that I owe a debt. They told me that I would go to jail and get my property if I don't pay them 400 dollars. I paid 100 dollars like a idiot. I called them Friday and they said that Investigator Moore is in court with other cases. I have not got any documents or anything from this law firm or anything. What should I do? I don't have money like that to be hussled.

Contact your bank.  Ask them what to do.  They can block the charges.  You may have to get a new account number.  You might want to print this thread and show it to your banker so they'll know what you are talking about.

When the scammer calls again hang up on him.

Send in cease and desist ..... talk to the manager and take the payment of file..... they have to.

I tried to stop them. They went and took more money. They said that they were Viking Holding Group and when I called that number it went to the law office of vincent peter cignarele. I am getting pissed. What should I do now.

Social Security Money cannot be garnished. It is the one source of income that cannot be legally touched. Unless it is for Child support, I believe.

Very clear recorded male voice says "this message is for" then muffled female voice sounds like "Moriarty or McCarthy" then clear recorded male voice again says "it's important that I call" and they have tried numerous times through the phone and mail to reach me. Neither one of those is my name or the name of who lived here before me.

Received a call from this company saying they were calling me about an impending court summons for a debt I legally owe.  However, when I asked for an address in which to send payments, I was told they only want debit card payments.  I kept calling to get address where to send payments and no one will return my calls despite me leaving several messages.  I am just going to send payments to the company I owe money to.

I got a call about a debt that I legally owe from these people.  They have already taken one payment out of my checking acccount.  I am not sure what to do.  This does need to be paid but I don't want to be paying money to someone who is running a scam.  I have tried calling them but they won't answer and they won't return phone calls.

Someone called my 85 y/o Mother and told her she owed them money, and was taking leagal action against her. I called from my cell phone,and they answered with a lawyer`s name, I asked where they were calling from and they hung up.

This guy doesn't give up.  Continues to call even though we always screen our calls and never pick up the phone unless we know who it is and want to speak with them.  Calls 8 times a day, has been going on for weeks.  You'd think they'd finally realize we're not going to pick up and give up.  I wish someone would put a stop to these lazy criminals.

write in and tell them to cease and desist calling you....or better yet call back up and ask to speak to a supervisor...the calls will magically stop....it worked for me.

I have been getting all kinds of crazy calls on my cell phone lately.  I got all call from this number 716-748-8700 and they left a message telling me to call the Law Office of Vincent Cignarale at 1-877-291-3759 to receive additional information about his matter.  I'm not returning the phone call because when this happens, my contact information gets sent over to other phony bill collectors and I get all kinds of crazy calls and half the time it's not me that the people are trying to reach.

The message this law office left for me was recorded and had a fake file name for the account on which I allegedly owed something.  It was a very threatening message and I made my husband listen to it as well.  We both agreed it sounded like a scam.  If I was getting ready to be sent to jail I think someone would call me.  Completely ridiculous and didn't leave a name either.  They are capitalizing on the fact that nearly everyone has some type of disputed debt somewhere. I've never done business outside of NC and my credit cards are only with my local bank, so I know no jackleg from NY is collecting on anything.

Mr. Porter keeps calling me, saying something about court and all that...Can he do that? I don't trust these people!
