- S.S.S.If it's commenity bank, that would explain why I've been getting calls from them, too. In my experience, this is a predatory company, intent on collecting so-called "promotional" fees to which it isn't entitled. I've reported them to my state's attorney general and also the federal credit card bureau for their unsavory practices.

- Jenn| 1 replyCommenity Bank. Maurices Credit Card Bill collectors. I don't have business with them, but they were friendly and told me who they were. Apparently, someone used my cell phone number and ironically, they have the same first name as me. That's why the dude said they kept calling, because my VM says "This is Jennifer, leave me a message" . I assume since I asked them politely to stop calling 20-30 times per day, that they will take me off their list. :)
- Caller: Commenity Bank
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to JennSee that is your problem, you are asking instead of telling. If they fail to stop calling, then you must send them a cease and desist or "not me" letter by certified, return receipt US mail. You will be surprised at what type of results that little green card will get.

One has to wonder why these allegedly “legit” companies need so many phone numbers to call people with.
Seems to be a frequent flyer in these pages with a very bad reputation. Be advised that they are not subject to the FDCPA since they are the creditor. They may however be subject to state laws.

Now for the interesting part.
BBB page with 1,642 complaints, and 215 negative reviews and they still get an A+ rating. What the heck is that all about? http://www.bbb.org/centralohio/business-revie ... olumbus-oh-6558
They must be paying big bucks to the BBB for that.
Bizapedia has them as a Florida Fictitious name but they are located in Ohio: http://www.bizapedia.com/fl/COMENITY-BANK.html

- SungirlThey started calling my work number about 3 weeks ago. I answered a few times, and I would detect a hesitancy, and a recording would come on seconds later. They call my work number from 8 to 5 and into the evening shift after 7:00 p.m. Thank God for caller id. Now I ignore the call whenever I see them.
- Caller: Comenity
- Call type: Debt collector
- ashI talked to comenity and they actually told me this is a fraudulent number calling. They have no record of themselves every calling me and the people on this number didn't have my correct info but they did. I looked up their real number online and called that first to check. So BEWARE they are scammers attempting to steal your info
- Caller: comenity
- Call type: Debt collector
- RACHEL ALLENI have blocked 5 numbers from them already. Apparently they are now calling from two other numbers. I am at work and they have called 5 times in the last four hours. I know I owe them money but it's not much, and with them calling like this it makes me not want to pay.

- CatI have recieved over 6 calls so far from this company. It started at
8am and its nearly lunch now. I'm getting pissed off at them. I've answered it and nothing but silence.- Caller: 1-720-456-3688
- M| 1 replyCall several times . Told them to stop . Told me to get a lawyer. Why do they offer so much credit for a low income ? I'm unemployed now and missed a few payments . No wonder so many stores are closing .
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to MThe store has nothing to do with it, which is clearly explained on the application as well as the paperwork you received with the card. This is simply a branded card with the store name on it and Commenity Bank offers it. They are well known to be a predatory lender, with high interest rates. Take the time to read my other post.
- Paul NovacekThe caller would not give my wife information as to the reason for their call when screening the call for me at 9:00 am on Saturday morning.
- Caller: Comenity
- annoyed| 1 replyIt calls as others have said all over the US. Miss Johnson from this number went too far though as she called my son's cell number(how she got it is beyond me) and told him in a message to have me call her. Isn't there laws against stuff like that???
- Caller: Commedity
- Call type: Valid
- BigA replies to annoyedIt would depend on what this person said. There are no federal collection laws that regulate original creditors, and only 5 states have laws that do. I would suggest that you read the other posts to learn more.
