Normally I say; "Let it ring, let it ring, let it ring".  But this was my cell.  I looked...I hesitated....I was tough.  I don't answer if I don't recognize.  No message, no skin off my nose.  They will give up.

Only AFTER they answer and say something, interrupt and ask them "is this conversation being monitored or recorded? " If they say yes, immediately tell them any phone conversation that is monitored or recorded MUST be stated at the very beginning of any phone conversation without the other party having to ask !  What they are doing constitutes ILLEGAL wiretapping and must be reported to the FCC

I received this call at 900pm, I was so pissed. Indian lady kept asking for my name and that it was for a "program" to receive a $100 walmart gift card and other discounts. $2.95 for shipping and handling. To which I asked if she was calling to get my cc info to drain my acct, she replied, " ma'am I am trying to get you $100 dollar gift card for your "program" . I asked what program, she said , " I will repeat again, a $100 gift card , blah blah, for your " program" . I asked what company was calling, she said " ma'am do you want to accept the gift card". I replied, do you want my cc to do fraudulent things on my account? Her reply, " have a good day ma'am" and hung up. I take that as a yes!

They call at all different times but never leave a message.

I think you're paranoid. If they're hacking for your info, do you think they need to call you?

Got a call on my cell phone, which I never ever use except texting grandkids and an occasional call to a friend.  My cell number got put on the do not call list in December and since that time I've had a ton of stupid calls. I say don't put your numbers on the do not call list. I've had my cell for about 10 years and it's just been the last few months that I've started receiving annoying calls. I didn't answer the call.

Noticed a "missed call" from these folks who, judging by earlier post, appear to be the quintessential bottom-feeders. Just one more number to add to my "Village Idiots" number list.

I received a call from this number on my cell, when I answered no one was there. I am on the No Call List, which is a joke.

The call you describe is not prohibited by the Do Not Call List.

Robocall with a woman's voice offering a free gift card and all I had to do was press 1. Over and over she said just press 1 to be connected to an operator. The Federal Trade Commission says don't press any numbers, just hang up. Pressing something to have your number removed will only result in more robocalls since it confirms that a person answered the phone and not an answering machine. Just hang up immediately.

I beg to differ. These calls ARE prohibited ! Go to  FCC.GOV or call the FCC toll free number:  888-382-1222 .  Do some research before you post !!!!

This number called my cell. They did leave a message, and the message did become very garbled. Didn't answer, not calling back.

The Do Not Call Registry is absolutely useless, so don't bother reporting them there. If you've got the free time to call them back and play games with them, fine, but if you don't, just BLOCK these telemarketing numbers from your phone so you won't be bothered anymore. If you have a smart phone, you can block these numbers yourself. If they're calling your landline, contact your phone service provider for info on how to block numbers. (For AT&T phones, dial *60, then follow the directions.)

and thats the catch... if you dont recognize the number, dont answer! If its legitimate business; they'll leave a message. I am not sure when my number got on some list a couple of months ago but its been two months of non stop idiots calling.
It all started when I responded to a text from a number in California. Msg said they were confirming it was my number; and that the person had this number for me (they knew my first name). I 'stupidly' wrote back saying "maybe; and asked who they were". They never replied
Two days later I get a call from a girl interested in a rental property I was showing (i have no rental property); she also had my name. I realized she got my name from my voice mail! Delete your voice from your voice mail; have the robot pick up for you.
A lot of these calls are generated from auto-dialers. as soon as there is a connection they register that your number is stil active.

I just got a call from this number as well.  I did not answer it and will not call back.

Just received a call from 731-201-0118. Called back from different number, the Representative said that you have to call from the number they called you (my cell phone) in order to have your number removed. He said you would have to press 9 to delete your number or press 1 to speak with a Representative and the "live" representative cannot remove your number.  I asked what company was this, he said "Savings Galore". I asked where is it located, he said 'Clearwater Florida".

Automated message about a $100 walmart gift card. Said press 1 to talk to a rep. No option to opt out from calling list.

If you have an iphone, at least you can block their number.  Until they use another one.  :)

Did not leave a message. Blocked it. Called it. It was about winning a 100.00 dollar Walmart GC. Hoild on and they will coneect you. Ya ain't getting my PERSONAL info. SORRY BABE!

I just got a call from this number.  The phone rang twice and the caller hung up before I could answer.  Too bad, if I'm not busy I like playing with them... maybe a fake name, address and phone number, anything to waste their time.
