- stolemymoney| 17 repliestook $75.00 and did not give me anything.
Called themselves Vacation Village Resort.
associated with Williamsburg Plantation
exceptionally rude.- Caller: Vacation Village Resorts
- satisfiedcustomer replies to stolemymoney| 7 repliesi think it is so funny how people think they have things stolen from them when they are the ones that fill out the entry forms. This company does no cold calling. They explain everything in detail and give you everything in writing mailed and emailed. If there is any problems all you have to do is call and they will work out everything. I think it is funny that people think their money was stolen when they are told there are no cancellations or reschedules and all the directions and stipulations are gone over in detail over the phone. "stolemymoney" is just bitter because i would imagine did not listen to all the information that was gone over during the call... exceptionally ignorant
- old-fashioned skeptic replies to stolemymoney| 5 replieswhen these people called me at first I almost hung-up on them because I thought it was just another telemarketing company or some type of scam. I did not know that my wife had actually filled out the entry form. I was quite rude to the person until i realized my mistake. After the representative fully explained the situation I still had my doubts. I asked the caller for some type of written confirmation. I was given the website vacationvillageresorts.com and while I was on the phone my wife researched the website and I was on another computer looking on the Better Business Bureau which they were actually registered with. While my wife and I were checking all the credentials we were also sent a sample copy of the confirmation email (I also eventually received a hard copy in the mail) after we did the 75.00 deposit (and yes I got it back) they gave my wife and I a receipt number and I instantly called my card company and sure enough the statement said only $75 Great Eastern Resorts. Once we actually went to the resort it was amazing, we stayed on the resort property and it was beautiful. I had a large plate of crow to feast on after this experience. JUST MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN TO ALL THE INFORMATION THEY GIVE YOU WRITING IT DOWN IS A GOOD IDEA! AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS MULTIPLE TIMES!!!!!!!!!
- never been this angry replies to stolemymoney| 2 repliesI agree/ they are very rude and even if people are not citizen they will try to persuade you to come and do illegal work. very scary.
- pissed off replies to old-fashioned skepticoh please gimme a break. they r anything but nice! slimy thugs
- JJMP replies to STOP CRYING LISTEN NEXT TIME| 1 replyJust got a call and went through the process. I am waiting on my e-mail confirmation. I have their number and will call back repeatedly if it doesn't. I also will pitch a royal fit if it is Masanutten. My sister has been and says it is truly a mass of nothing. That was never mentioned or portrayed in the conversation and I had no reason to make any connection between the two based on the company and information that was portrayed to me.
- DONT BE SCAMMED replies to satisfiedcustomer| 2 repliesDont try to justify the scamming of people - either call them or email but dont try to make excuses for your rude and positively dreadful behavior. It must be really hard for you to sleep at night, and I hope someone scams you, your children, or your parents so you can know how it feels! QUIT YOUR JOB! EVEN HOMELESS PEOPLE HAVE MORE INTEGRITY THAN YOU!
- great time replies to never been this angrywhatever are you guys are for real. I have done this my self and everything was fine and I got my deposit back. They tell you no canceling or rescheduling. If you dont understand something all you have to do is ask and they will retell what they are trying to do and explain it again. You fill the form out and it says everything on the form. Anyways you fill it out and if your selected you get called and you get two complimentary vacations and $125 visa card, if they are such a scam then visa and where ever else you fill it out at would not be letting the boxes up in there for you people to fill it out. Personal I wouldn't ever put my info on anything without reading, then give people when they call my credit card number if I was still unsure so thats your own stupidity. I had a very nice time and enjoyed myself and the 90min tour you have to see for there timeshare was not bad either. We ended up not buying and still got everything they said we would. READ AND ASK QUESTIONS GUYS
- worse day| 3 repliesSaid we won 2 nights and 3 days in Vacation Village in the Berksires Ma,it would be 2 bedrooms, kitchen, enough to accomdate 4 adults and 2 children, the resort had indoor swimming pool, hot tub, fitness room and game room. Told us we had 2 choices to either book our vacation now or to book a day to do a 90min. tour and we would recieve $125.00 and book our vacation in a year. What a scam we took ther tour which was a time share not of where we would be staying. The hotel we were going to stay at was a ne bedroom, with a pull out sofa and a kitenette if you call it that. What a scam

- Lovingthetimesharetours replies to JJMPThe Massanuten resort is beautiful! My kids love it there because of the indoor/outdoor waterpark!
I've been to the Williamsburg resort as well, the hotel could've been a little nicer but for $75.00 that you get back! You can't complain!! - notabadthing replies to DONT BE SCAMMEDScamming would be the fact that we just get your # out the phone book, talk to just 1 of you on the line so you have nobody on your side to verify what we said, took you money and your credit card # and you still didn't get the vacations, or the money back!! It's not what we tell ourselves to sleep at night, it's the truth!! Also if you would read what your filling out, and pay attention to us when we're on the phone w/you, all you people writing bad things about us, wouldn't be so angry.
- timesharing replies to old-fashioned skepticexactly
- stolen money replies to satisfiedcustomer| 3 repliesyes, you are told that you get a refund of the 75.00, but they do not tell you that the refund is a visa gift card, until you receive the confirmation letter. well i did not pay with a visa gift card. if you go to a store and you pay with cash, visa or master card - your payment is returned to you the way you are paid - so it is stealing. they do not have the right to issue your money back to you they way the want.
- myself| 1 replyMy impression:
Though it seems like a scam it sounds like you get a lot for $75, as long as you don't mind listening to a sales pitch for a time share. The only issue that I have is that when I filled out the sweepstakes form I do not recall it mentioning anything about a time share. Regardless, I would prefer not to give out my credit card information via a request over the phone. I have heard of people stealing atm machines with a forklift, I am not about to assume that an entry form box at McDonalds is more secure. A simple legally binding document with my notarized signature should be sufficient to hold me accountable for expenses paid if I don't show up. I understand that from that perspective it is a little more work, but at least then they would ensure they invited somebody who is truly interested.
I doubt that this practice is illegal, but i think the fine print was overlooked like Willy Wonka's contract to enter the chocolate factory.- Caller: Don't recall
- AgreeWithMyself replies to myself@ Myself,,,,,Yes, i agree with you. I went to an expo and filled one of these out. Someone called me and said i had been CHOSEN to receive a 100 gift card and 6 day 7 nites to 4 locations........BTW, i didn't get any of this info at the expo. Then the woman went on and on and told me i had to schedule for a presentation and i told her "hold on a minute is this one of those time share things? I live in Orlando and they do that all over here"........then i ask her again about the offers and she says $150. Ok maybe i heard her wrong the first time. She tells me the sales reps just so happen to be in MY area and this certain time and so i agree to schedule a time to be at a presentation....I figure ok $150 not bad.....OK how long is this presentation? She doesn't know........she comes back with 90 minutes.........back and forth and it just gets fishier and fishier.......then she finally says well you have to leave a $50 dollar refundable deposit to hold the reservation time for you. And when you go you get the $50 back and that's why you get $150 visa gift card. I told her i didn't want that......I wanted how i paid.......And seriously the gift card is getting less appealing and i'm getting more irritated. The nail in the coffin was when she asked her mgr about it and he said they needed the $50 deposit to get my CC info........and i said.......nope never mind thanks. I will never leave my cc info to a stranger.........and NO there was NO INFO about this at the Expo. So happy i hung up on them. And NO she did not mention anything about nonrefundable if you couldnt go..........Be smart and just hang up the phone.
- We The People replies to STOP CRYING LISTEN NEXT TIME| 1 replyI just recieved a call and the lady told me I won $25,000 or a vacation. I promtly asked if this there was something I had to buy. She quickly told me no, and that this was legit, and I had really won the cash, and all I had to do was come to VA to pick it up. They couldn't tell me what prize they said....I had to come to find out. I was to make reservations at some resort with a non refundable deposit. She also wanted to make sure I was married and that my wife and I made atleast 40k a yr. I asked why she needed to know and she says to pay the taxes on the prize if I really did win (lmao). This is why America sucks, cause people will do anything to get a buck. Make you drive to VA for a [***] prize that clearly never was..even after you ask directly. So what I filled out the form! Does that mean that when I ask you a question that you don't have to tell the truth? It is a scam and they know it.
