I picked up a call from them a few days ago and now they call everyday. They said I owe them $1500 on a credit card that I never had. What a bum of scum bags.

never leaves a message.I have no debt and have a private(hmmm) unlisted number.

I have gotten several calls and they ask for someone I don't even know.I do not talk to them.Usually I cut them off before it goes to the answering machine but sometimes i'm not quick enough..I'm truly tired of them calling my number.I owe nothing to anyone.

Portfolio Recovery uses illegal practices that can cost them up to $1000.00 per violation. They already have been sued. I reported them to FTC.

They have called me continuously all through the night. Legally they can only call between 8am through 9pm. After 9 these bottom feeders block their id and it shows up unknown so they call all through the night.

You can report them to your Attorney General who then can supply a subpoena to give to your phone carrier who then can trace the calls from unknown callers or callers who show up as "No ID"

Little does the Portfolio idiots know, my phone only allows calls from people on my contact list, all other calls are blocked and the phone doesn't ring at all. I have a special voice mail program where you can delete messages without hearing them.

Importantly, know that these people are NOT the original creditor, therefore you have NO contract with them. The original creditor has long  since written the debt off and in a round about way received their monies through their tax returns.

DO NOT DEAL WITH PORTFOLIO OR ANY OTHER JUNK DEBT COLLECTORS they are NOT the original creditor you dealt with.

They have stooped to an all time new low. First, we have them on our call block list and they somehow manage to get through, will deal with the phone company on that. They have now begung to call on Sunday talk about an an all time new low. Whatever they THINK is owed to them is far less than they will be paying out in fines.

this number calls my number, and I believe its for someone who had my number previously and I've told them that, because we've only had our number for a year, yet they keep calling our number.

I get calls on Sundays....I thought that was illegal? I live in CA. I saved the number, set my ringtone to "no sound" and they can talk to dead air all they want....they are tring to collect a debt that I don't even know who the person is that they are trying to reach.

This # came on my cell phone I don't even know who these people are.

You have his home address but do you have a phone number? Oh how sweet it would be to call his house like his company call's us. One right after the other, day after day. LOL

I get calls from them (Portfolio Recovery).. They call from different numbers from across the country..
So I made all calls that have the name Portfolio in it, forward to their main number (757-961-3545)
So now when they call me, the call goes straight to their receptionist at their headquarters..

Let's see if they like getting calls from their own people...

we were called by portfolio also.  we went bankrupt in 05 our debt was discharged also.  i called my bankruptcy lawyer and they said get them to send it in writing about what they want and send it to the bankruptcy lawyer and they can be sued.

Received call from company listed as Portfolio Recovery and calling on a Sunday, which is also illegal.  Did not answer as don't answer these calls this is a debt that is over 12 years old

Debt collector, also called from numbers in Waco, Phoenix, Miami, West Sacramento and Rochester. Same company, same people.

beware, these twerps use skype to make phone calls and fake their #'s when they call.

I received a call tonite from this number.
I have caller ID and decided to see who it was.
I didn't answer the call but I am on the NO call list and do not
take calls from those In don't know.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.
