This is one of many, many, many unwanted calls my husband and I receive on a daily basis. It seems that as our ecomomy worsens, these people become more rude! Any phone company will let you block up to 12 numbers without charging. However as we are all aware, scum scammers like these people have 20 or more trunk line PBX switchboards and will only call you from a different number. I finally contacted my carrier (Verizon) and placed a service called "call intercept". I won't go into detail but it has been amazing. Here's the short verison for anyone interested: If a caller attempts to reach my phone and the caller ID is Private, Unknown, Out of Area, Unavailable etc... my phone won't even ring. A recorded message plays to the caller stating that the number they are trying to reach has "call intercept" and asks the caller to identify themselves and the company they are calling from. Only after the requested information has been provided will my phone ring with a special ring - kind of a "ring, ring" in rapid session. This ring type lets me know that it is a call intercept. I can choose to pick-up the phone and listen to who the caller is at which time I have 5 options; 1)take the call 2)block the call sorry, I've never gotten past yes or no so I'm not sure what the other options are.  If I am not home to answer the call intercept, the call will go to my voice mail.  I have found that once these scammers here the words call intercept, they hang up and the greatest part.... I never even hear my phone ring!
It's not free but the $5 Verison charges me is so worth not having to deal with the harrasment. It's worth a try for those of you out here that are or should I say "were" sick and tired of the rude, mean pushy people call everyday regarless of the time of day. Being nice to these people doesn't work - but trust me call intercept did the job for us.

    Good luck!

p.s: I don't not work for Verison or any other phone service - just in case anyone thought I was trying to sell you a service ;)

If you call the number back it gives you the option to remove your number, who knows if it really works.

The numbers (757) 990-8981, (301) 223-0028, (804) 234-9010, (301) 882-9986 are calls about lowering your interest rates.  They are harrassing my mother's phone by calling several times a day.  I just made a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission like a person above.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE File a complaint against these numbers so that we can get some action.  Some of these numbers are registered in MD and VA so here are some numbers for the Attorney General in these states to file complaints as well VA (800) 552-9963 and MD (888) 743-0023.  Piece of mind is only a phone call away!!

I received a charge on my phone bill for 146 minutes of long distance to this number. I thought it was my wife talking to her sister, she looked at it and told me no. Of course when I came to this site, I see it's some kind of scam, but if you are receiving calls from this # and you have to pay for your long distance, better check your bill.

When you try to talk to them they hang up.  I have asked them to stop calling and even pressed "2" to be taken off their list.  They always say, "This is your final notice."  I told them I wish it truely was!

Not all there information is accurate.  I lease a new car every couple of years, so obviously my warranty is not expired.  When they ask you what Make and Model and you tell them, they get angry and slam the phone down.

Called today, 5/28 @ 2:40pm. My warranty was running out, and it HAS to be extended prior to a certain mileage...it was my LAST CHANCE!!! and I needed to press 1 to ensure my coverage. I pressed one, and Charles answered the phone. I asked for his company's name, and he hung up on me!!

Answered the phone and they said this is your final notice that your vehicle warranty is about to expire, so I pressed 1 and a guy answered.  I told him that we have never had warranty's on our vehicles and he said we did.  So I asked him what vehicle that warranty is on and he said "ma'am we can't tell you that".  I handed the phone to hubby and he called the guy a butt sniffer and the guy hung up.  [***]!!!!

I get calls from this number which is accompanied by the title of "Sales Department" on the caller ID.  The automated message was advising me that the factory warranty on my vehicle was expired or about to expire. It has been calling everyday for a week.  I have been hanging up but since it wont stop, today I decided to press "1" to speak to them and ask to be taken off the list.  The guy just said "OK" and hung up.  Here's the deal... I am purchasing one of those can air horns and every time they make my phone ring, I am going to make their ears ring!!!  I'm almost hoping they call back.

Got a phone call so I answered it.  Of course it was for an extended warranty that has already expired.  I pressed 1 to talk to someone and I told the guy that they had called last wk and that I wanted to know what vehicle I supposedly have a warrrant on and they said "ma'am we can't tell you that".  Well yeah, because neither of my vehicles have a warranty on them.  I told the guy today that they are not a legit company and just want ppls info and the [***] hung up on me.

Calls all the time saying I can lower my credit card interest rate. Have no credit cards. Told her I'm on the Do Not Call list and she hung up. Got another call a couple of minutes later and pressed 1 to talk to a rep. Phone rang and rang and finally hung up on me. Next time I get a call I'm getting my whistle out and using it when I get a live person.

Hate to tell you but i have pushed that button for over a year now.  They still call me multipple times a day and week from different phone numbers.  I am up to 6 numbers being blocked now. Filed complaints 3X with the FCC. Nothing helps....Maybe if we all shut off our landlines the phone companies would get involved if it started to cost them money!

These people called me for months to help me with my interest rates! At least twice per day! When prompted to "press 2, to be removed from our call list", I did. It only made it worse! I Even talked directly with their operators, asking them to stop, I don't need your services. I tried to be polite throughout at least the first dozen calls. But, it only seemed to make them more determined! So, I submitted complaints with the FTC and Bellsouth/AT&T. I was told, the telephone company could not block telemarketers, even if my name was on the 'No Call List'! But for an additional $9.95 a month, they would block them! My comment was, "That's extortion!" The operator even had the guts to agree with me!!! So, instead of paying them $9.95, I went to Walmart, spent the money on an air horn. The kind used in boats...about $10. I gave them a couple more chances to stop calling. Then, when prompted to speak with a representative, I did! When they answer, let loose with the air horn in their ear!!! Yes, it may very damned well burst their eardrums. But, I pay for my phone service, NOT telemarketers! If they can't get the hint, BLAST THEM! They should get REAL respectible jobs! I promise, I get NO more calls!!! I works so well, I should be charging for this solution!!
