That is corrects, a return call just ensures you are a real person who is willing to negotiate. They can use it to call you back or sell your number in a bundle of "validated" numbers which is more valuable than the rest.

They keep calling me offering an extended warranty on my car. I am on the DNC list.

Two days ago I answered the call and they asked for Kim. When I said this was not her number they then proceeded to try to sell me an extended warranty anyway. I declined and just got a second call from the number, which I didn't answer.

This 760-509-8388 # that just called me but left no voice mail msg is just another phone # spammer/scammer who has bought not only my private cell # from some outside bank a$$hole loan company trying to make a buck off of buying my # and yours from no doubt a new or used car dealer selling your private info for profit which is illegal. Chase bank is notorious for doing this esp if you finance your car purchase through their loan dept!! Jerks!! Make sure when you buy a new or used car that you ''don't'' - - opt in - -
for anything that even looks like phone # spamming/scamming. That is part why i dumped mazda-chase bank financing on my 2011 used car loan shortly after getting qualified through them credit wise, and instead 4 months later went with my own credit union car loan refi after they offered me 1.74% with no payment due until 90 days later. I jumped on that in a heartbeat, and guess what? All the cellphone loan spammer calls stopped after 1 month. I rarely get one now - case solved - book 'em danno!! If i do get a caller and the call comes up ''unknown caller'' - i just hit ignore and my cell hangs up on them! Nice!! I've even started a ''unknown bobus scammer'' contact list and when a repeat a$$hole caller calls me i just add that # to the running list and that's the end of that # as they get the hint real fast. Just do it!! You can recopy this text post and just keep reposting it on all the cell spammer sites like this one and that way it will be viral everywhere on the net and these a$$holes will get the msg real fast. Totally agree. I reverse look them up anyhow to identify them so as not to mistakingly answer.  BTW. if it's those scammers for car warrantees, I no longer own the car that they're trying to sell me an extended warrantee for.

Listen to the recorded lady about her warranty. When she gets to the question asking if your car is under 180,000  say no. They will tell you your car doesn't qualify and will stop calling.

Got a vehicle warranty call this morning.  Blocking number

They called today. Caller ID said V42712454700177. I did not answer and they did not leave a message. Have added them to my blocked numbers.

Called my cell twice.. Nobody has my cell number..

Called to inform me that my vehicle warranty coverage has expired... This is an automated message. It then asked, if I would like to know my options to get back under coverage. I said no. They disconnected the call.

I do not even have a car. I live in a large city and walk everywhere... how are these people finding numbers?

I keep getting calls from phone # 760-509-8388. I am on the do not call list but they still keep calling. VERY irritating!

I do the same thing.  Don't answer if I don't recognize the number and check the number here to see who it is.  I figure if it is that important they will leave a message.

Now that I know they're trying to sell extended warranties on vehicles, I'm going to start answering, "NY State National Guard Armory, Staff Sergeant Fury speaking.  May I help you, Sir?"  I'll let them talk if they want, then tell them I want to get warranties on all 24 tanks.  Let's see how that goes.
