I received a call at 9:02 this morning, April 6, 2010. Caller ID shows "CREDIT SERVICES" and the number is (706)526-8596. I didn't answer.

If it is for lowering my interest, then they have succeeded. I am not interested.

Similar to all the others... a man with an extremely accented voice who would not tell me wha company and refused to give me a call-back # to verify (pretended I didn't have caller ID).  Hung up when I told him I wasn't going to give him a c.c.#....

I received this call similar to Alans call and I asked him who he worked for and he said, "master card and visa", then he asked for a second time if I wanted to lower my interest rates and I asked by how much and he hung up. I think these people are cons. What business calls you from a cell phone and asks you about your credit cards??

I also received a call at 9:02 this morning, April 8, 2010. Caller ID shows "CREDIT SERVICES" and the number is (706)526-8596. It was the same company recording from when Senate Offices were called and Charles Schumer took action.  Now they are back.  I filed a complaint with donotcall.gov and did *57 so it recorded it to the local telephone company.  I also sent a letter to my Senators since they took action against these companies last year and I hope they will again.

Got my latest call today, from 760-526-8596 (which this time doesn't appear to be phony.)  I've had many calls in the past from them all from different numbers (some phony) all with the same message.  They want your SSN and credit card numbers.  They claim it's okay to give them your card numbers since they won't ask for the 3-digit security codes!

They always hang up the second I sound suspicious.

Don't we have any law enforcement that can shut these people down?

Got a call saying they would lower my interest rates on  visa and mastercard. Wanted my cc info when I said I wouldn't supply my information they hung up.

Caller ID says Credit Card Services.   I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message on the machine

VERY phishy "lower interest rate" offer disguised as a legitimate company. Asked for last 4 digits of SSN and questions got progressively more invasive, supposedly to pull up my account information. Did not know my CC provider or type of card. Also claimed it was okay to give out account numbers, as they would not be asking for the 3-digit security code. Was very persistent when I said I was not comfortable giving out those details over the phone. I hung up. I REALLY regret giving even the partial SSN...

We are not in collections for either of our credit cards.

At the beginning of the call he also asked, "Is this (first name) or (first name + middle initial)?" I said, "They should be the same." And he replied, "No. I have two different people."

I always press 1 and ask which credit card they are referring to - they hang up immediately.

Like Gun Laws and "Never Shake a Baby" billboards, I really doubt the DNC list matters to criminals and losers.

No message. I called back and the message says, 'Thank you for calling back. If you do not wish to receive messages of our special promotions, please press 1 to be put on our Do Not Call LIst, but realize it may take up to 72 hours to get you off of our calling list."

So that's what they do - they just ignore the federal Do Not Call registry, and say they have their own. Nice!

Just got his phone call too.    It came up out of area.    Got the whole Hello this Heather bit.  Calling about my credit cards to lower my interest rate.    I hit 2 and hung up.    I am sure they will call again.

Is another scam.     Will report this to the do not call.  Maybe if they get enough people it will annoy them and I will shut this current operation down.      I am sure we will all be back with a new number to report in about 3 months.

I got the same call - I chose #1 to speak to someone.  I asked them what company they were with and he said "card services".  I asked "card services with which company?" and he said "visa/mastercard".  I asked him which account number this was regarding and HE HUNG UP. I'm filing a complaint with the do not call registry.

Caller ID and voice said it was "Credit Services."  Recording said it was offering to reduce the interest rate on my current credit card account to 6.9...% and to stay on the line to get info on this limited time offer.  No thanks, I'm not foolish enough to give out financial info on the phone.

"Unknown name" on caller ID.  Just hung up when I answered.  This thread goes back YEARS!  Where's the Do Not Call list enforcement?!  If you're in PA, this also can be reported to the AG and if the recipient of the call is over 60, the fine is large and the company is in deep do-do.  I suspect other states have similar laws.
