ARE YOU JUST PLAIN STUPID OR WHAT.  NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE ANYONE ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE YOU DO NOT KNOW.  THAT INCLUDES YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.  DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORD "DOOMED".

This phone number 760-705-8888 showing up as CALIFORNIA CALL going through Google's VOIP phone service has to be a generic number.  Look at all the different people that were calling from different areas with all the different scam pitches.  Don't be like Donna and give out your personal information.  The very BEST THING TO DO if you do not recognize the phone number, is let it go to voice mail to see who it is even if they do not leave a message.  No message = scammer, telemarketer or just plain kook. WAKE UP some of you people, my GOD.

Yes, I got a call from this number too.  
Someone with a broad (probably faked) American accent called me"grandma".  When I asked who it was, he asked me if I didn't recognize my own grandchild.  Of course I didn't, so said "no" and he hung up.  I was probably going to get the usual scam spiel about being arrested in Mexico, or having a bad car accident in wherever and needing funds wired.
This number certainly serves a splendid number of crooks & scam artists, sigh.  At least it wasn't in the wee small hours of the morning like others have received.

I'm tired of receiving calls that no one responds to! It eats up our bill!

I missed a call from this number on 10/12 at 9:14pm.  I will not be calling back!  I'm grateful for these posts - they saved me from wasting time.

it's very easy to tell when you are not from that culture. can't you tell the difference from
British English accent and American accent? I'm Indian, so does that mean I have to be English to know the accent? This guy called me. And he is Indian by origin and has an Indian accent. East Indian.

stating they are techinal support and calling about you debit & visa terminal

it is havinv problems and we need to do what he says to correct it.

I use Call Control as well and really like it. I saw a blocked call from this number with Call Control so I searched and found this thread to see who had tried to call me. The new feature of hang up on them works well on my Samsung Nexus.

this person called me and when i asked him/her iff they like waffles, the jst made a small mhm noise and then they jst sorta went hm every time i asked a question. they are a horrible person/thing and they dont like waffles

I got a call from the same number at like 12:30am, and I didn't answer it either. How strange. Kinda wish I answered, would have been a laugh hahaha

They left a voicemail and it was credityes.com following up on a recent application and they were checking how my meeting with a dealership went,

It is my understanding that Google Voice is only free for parties calling from and to locations within the continental United States and Canada, someone using it to call from India would be charged for it. Personally I use it frequently to call my cell when I can't find it, very handy.

A guy called me from this number and I believe he's chinese according to his accent and told me he's  an internet investigator telling me that all my internet informations are leeked for over a month and asked me if I need any help to fix that problem but when I told him I'll do that myself , he hanged up. I tried to call this same number but the call was always uncompleted. I am sure it's a scam but even though I didn't give any info. I am still uncomfortable.

Got a phone call at 12:30 am, really annoying when I'm an insomniac anyway. Would like to be able to trace back to the person that called me.

Got 3 calls tonight at 8pm Pacific time. I did not answer. This occurred an hour after I registered for my ATT Uverse DSL service. I gave out a lot of info to ATT that stated it was required. I didn't want to. Why do they need to know my sex and date of birth and such? Im learning computer stuff. The password questions were silly, anyone who knows me could figure them out but my friends don't own computers. I'm too old for this stuff anyway, can barely read, losing vision. I'm afraid to answer the door, my neighbor was beaten and robbed at noon. Now I'm afraid to answer the phone.  John B in Bakersfield CA

Ok I answered the phone. Some kid trying to call his friend and dialed the wrong number (my number).
He said he was using his GOOGLE phone and talking to me through his computer. Gee I didn't know you could that? He was a nice kid from Michigan not far from my hometown. Things have changed in Detroit since 1929.
