Phone number came up as Scott Stamper, no one on the line but they keep calling. I too am on the DO NOT CALL List,that seems to be a joke.... more phone calls than ever before

It's well noted and confirmed that calls from 765-807-6509 are Fraud attempts.

So beyond that here is some shared advice, history and insight that's been gathered.

It's advised to NEVER give personal information over the phone to unsolicited / unconfirmed callers. To include if you wish to avoid the fraud callers attempts - to STOP / humiliate / void the callers attempts. Here are some highly effective measures you can take.

1. Check that your phone allows you to block or LABEL numbers. As to identify them as UNWANTED and allow you to ignore or hang up on the caller. Or see if your phone service provider provides free call block service directions or a paid service they provide.

2. Note for unsolicited calls. You can always just immediately click to answer & immediately click to hangup on the caller without saying anything.

3. It's always wise to report Scam attempt calls to your local authorities.

4. You're also welcomed to join the fight against Scam call operations. By actively taking note of the scam / annoyance numbers. Then share the numbers used in their attempts with others in forums like this.

NOTE: - With today's telephone technology and the ability to spoof and use VOIP services. Unfortunately trace and tracking methods are more complex and therefor the National Do Not Call registry isn't as swift/ immediate / effective as it was in the past.

Another annoying early morning call from this number today (Friday 2012-06-08), I did not answer and let it ring (4 rings):

Months of constant scam phone calls is so awesome.

I shut it down when I saw the Caller ID.   They are bums and will call and continue to call so the only productive thing to do is to answer but lay the phone down without talking.  Just let them listen to "Fox News" or "Love of Life" etc until they hang up. This way you make them burn their time on a wasted call.

These people are most likely telemarketers but they spoof their number so who knows.

it was a recording about medicare or something???

I just filed a complaint about this number765-807-6509 National Do Not Call Registry: DoNotCall.gov,and everyone that gets these calls should do this everytime we get these kind of scam calls ! If we all keep complaining,maybe the government will get the message.

Received a phone call from this number. It was a recording in regards to whether my medicare had coverage for the BBC on Craigslist.

Called my cell number. All it said was "Lafayette, IN."  My prom date was from there.  If I get that number again I will complain to the FCC.

I try not to answer unfamiliar numbers. Call came @ 4:15 p.m. ET

Excuse me, but where you got it from? And HOW exactly are they going to steal your bank account & other info from your phone IF THEY DON'T HAVE AN INTERNET/BLUETOOTH CONNECTION with it? So please don't scare people here. Your personal data cannot be stolen this way. However, it MAY be that by pressing any such button you really CONFIRM that your number is active, and so you will receive more scam calls, and not only from this company. But the part about stealing personal data is not true (unless one is stupid enough to tell someone such things over the phone).

Got a call today from this number, did not answer. No voice message, so I supposed this is a scam and was right. I do not believe in any Do Not Call lists, so I have installed an application on my Symbian phone, it's called Handy Blacklist, or there's also Adanced Call Manager. You can block the scam numbers and they will not reach you again. This is the only way I see to protect myself.

Just add this number to your phones block list. Spam calls with computerized auto dialers, that kick off a message when the phone is picked up.  I know the numbers of family and friends, I refuse to answer a number that I do not know.  it goes to Voice Mail and gets screened that way.

Who is covered by the National Do Not Call Registry?

The National Do Not Call Registry applies to any plan, program, or campaign to sell goods or services through interstate phone calls. This includes telemarketers who solicit consumers, often on behalf of third party sellers. It also includes sellers who provide, offer to provide, or arrange to provide goods or services to consumers in exchange for payment.

The National Do Not Call Registry does not limit calls by political organizations, charities, or telephone surveyors.

What about an established business relationship?

A telemarketer or seller may call a consumer with whom it has an established business relationship for up to 18 months after the consumer's last purchase, delivery, or payment - even if the consumer's number is on the National Do Not Call Registry. In addition, a company may call a consumer for up to three months after the consumer makes an inquiry or submits an application to the company. And if a consumer has given a company written permission, the company may call even if the consumer's number is on the National Do Not Call Registry.

One caveat: if a consumer asks a company not to call, the company may not call, even if there is an established business relationship. Indeed, a company may not call a consumer - regardless of whether the consumer's number is on the registry - if the consumer has asked to be put on the company's own do not call list.

No message, just phone call and I have no idea who it is. They have called numerous times.

CID says "ARTHRITIS INFO'' -News for them: I DON'T HAVE ARTHRITIS! Likely just a spoof-number scam anyway. Someone has put me  on some kind of hit list, because I get at least one or two calls relating to something medical every day. [AM I NOW TO BE WARY OF EVEN GOING TO THE DOCTOR]? How else would they know to zero in on me? Must be the doctor's office or the insurance company causing this!!

Got a call from this number on my cell phone....I don't use my cell phone much, but it must not have been too important because they didn't leave a message and they didn't call back.  I hate to NOT answer the phone just because I don't recognize the number...I have a couple of sons who travel around and I never know if they're calling from someone's phone, or their cell.  I have also answered and discovered long lost friends on the other end....it's just so sad that we have to deal with any kind of selling or promoting on our phones...we get enough commercials and sales pitches online and on TV...I am on the no call list....sadly the list does NOT pertain to non-profit organization, survey takers or political canvasing, all of which I am not interested in.
