- Jared| 17 repliesI missed a call and no message was left by the caller
- Evelyn| 2 repliesCaller left vms about someone that doesn't live at this address and left a case number
- me replies to Evelyn| 1 replyI just had the same thing last night (7-25-2007) and then when I mentioned the case number, the rude guy on the phone asked me to call back in 10 minutes or else they'd issue a summons and hung up! Furthermore, I heard another man in the background call someone "baby". Very rude, and as a law abiding citizen, I am not sure what that was all. I can tell you that the phone records from other sites point this to Adairsville, GA and this is a cell phone number, from what I read. It also connected me to some asset site which I have no idea is.
- me, again ... replies to meI forgot to mention that I got something like "Americana business" or something like that out of him, but they weren't very clear, and would not give out the who's or what's that they allegedly are.
- Weird| 1 replyI received a strange call from this place trying to collect on a credit card bill that is 20 years old. They would not give me their address so I could send them a cease letter.
- Ty erd of phone calls like this! replies to WeirdEver hear of Shannon Lee anyone? This is the lady that called twice, but only calls in the mid-morning hours. This is the same place, just like the rest of this.
- Happy| 3 repliesI got a vmail from this number too. Gave the name of Susan Banks and a civil suit case number? I live in Colorado. My understanding of civil suits is that they have to be filed in the county where repondant lives. Heck, GA isnt even the right state. I'm not sure where they are getting this info, but sounds like a phishing expedition for a scam. Get a little info, use it to gain more info then clean them out. I sent an email to the local radio news station to see if they want to investigate. Will keep you posted.

- me replies to Happy| 2 repliesMy thoughts exactly. It amazes me the extent fraud and intimidation tactics are played on us innocent ones. Truly amazing, and frustrating all at once. It is a good thing I found this site, and others have too. At least we know where to look for help!
- B.| 1 replyI also got a call on July 24th from a company calling themselves Claims America in Stone Mountain, Ga. I live in Florida. They where very threatening. I got important help from a friend of mine who is a lawyer. I also contacted my bank which in turn contacted the 3 big Credit Card Agencies with this no. & name. I told bank security they need to contact the FBI on this scam company.
- Caller: Claims America

- filmguy| 4 repliesGot an auto machine call July 28th, on my mom's telephone today. Civil action (i.e. collection??) and a case number and they named the county where I live. (Credit report usually states your county on it). Probably trying to collect an old credit card debt that is about to fall off my credit report. I also found them in Adairsville, GA. I live in Alabama. If you hear from them, don't call them back if you think it is about an old debt because that will start the clock over on the 7-year credit report rule. These are the lowest of the debt collector low-life's. This is so far from the original creditor that the whole thing is insane. They purchase these accounts for pennies on the dollar and use tactics like threatening "civil" action to frighten people. Shame on them!

- Danny| 2 repliesMy wife and I returned from vacation and when we picked up our voicemails we had to calls from this number asking me to call them about a complaint and to refer to case number LFG7023. When I did call the person told me that I was being sued by Chase Manhattan credit card for $1093.00 and when I asked them what the item was they couldn't tell - they threatened to take me to court and they were going to subpoena, I asked them to furnish me the credit card number so I could check with Chase and they weren't able to do so. They told me that they were going to notify the Middlesex Sheriff's department and would see me in court. The guy I spoke to was Victor. Later in the day I called the say number from a different phone and a woman picked up and just said "hello" and when I asked who she was, she handed the phone over to the man I spoke to earlier who threatend to take me to court and just ended it by saying I called the wrong number.
- Caller: no
- Danny replies to B.hello there, thank you for posting this information on the internet. This same shady company called me and said that they were going to supbeona me into court as I owed $1093.00 to Chase Manhattan. They were not professional over the phone with me nor my wife and if anything they were rude.
I'm just curious as to what happen in your case - did they end up leaving you alone? - me, 4th time replies to Danny| 1 replyWell, they may have stopped calling for now. Apparently I owe 4000 on a credit card I never had, or even was close to. They proceeded to tell this to my neighbor on the phone, while then mentioning an OLD OLD address of mine, along with the wrong last four of my social. BEWARE, even if they are legit in any minimal way, I do believe some of the folks listed in this thread above would agree they are threatening, and walking the fine line of criminal telephone harrassment, which in most states is a misdemeanor. Keep posting as I will as well. I also called the closest GA police department, as well as reminded them this number comes up as a "cell" phone.
- Danny replies to me, 4th timeJust read your post, thanks for the input. As for myself, I am from Massachusetts and they threatened to supbeona me within 24 hourse with the Sheriff's department. Little do they know I am calling the sheriff's department to report them for harrassing me. They are claiming that I owe a $1093.00. It's funny when you call their number they just answer by saying "hello" - if they were legit, they should be more professional. By the way I also called the Decatur, GA police and they said they couldn't do anything unless they threatened me with bodily harm. Knowing this is happening to other, I can sleep good tonight. Good luck.
- Ln| 4 repliesInteresting to read the newer postings. No matter what let the police department near Decatur know about the harrassments. I was threatened with many things like the rest of you-I was also told I owed over $1,600.00 and if I did not handle this over the phone at that moment I would be sued for over $5,000 by the credit card company & the law firm for the credit card co. which does not even exist anymore and of which I had paid off over 11 years ago. The Police Depart. near Decatur, Ga. was going to check on this shady place today-which to let you know-is in a small strip mall. Again, the web site for these shady calls is: www.civilclaimsais.com (it is very interesting to view)
I also contacted the 3 large credit companies about 770.881.7088
I just found out the best route is to call: Comptroller of the Currency
in Washington D.C. I did not have a chance today to call. I will call them tomorrow. Their website is: www.occ.treas.gov/org.htm
They will do something about it. I had contacted a lawyer friend who told me what to do. Do not have any fears-this company is not honest & they are using
old infro. on people that is useless. I fear for the people who do get caught in the scam. If you do not get anywhere with the Decatur, Ga. area police do call the major credit card agencies and or the OCC in Washington,D.C. Another route is to call the Att. General of Ga. which is another route I am planning too.- Caller: Has used many names

- Danny replies to Ln| 1 replyThanks for your input. These things are good to know.
- me once more ... replies to DannyWell, with the comment of the person listed above stating that if they didn't come to a monetary amount over the phone, without any verification of "who they" are, and demanding a higher amount if not settled over the phone, wouldn't this constitute fraud, and possibly extortion for the higher amount? I am by not means a legal person, but aside from fraud, the police might want to consider the facts in the persons' statement above as possible criminal intent from this place that keeps calling all of us.
- tom| 2 repliesI got a message left on my answering machine from a person identified as Robert Duchee with a collection agency. He was really hard to understand on the recording but I understood him stating that there was a claim against me. He stated if I did not return a call promply he would seek a court action against me. This really freaked me out because I know I don't have any claims against me. I am sure glad I typed the number in the computer and got this web site.

- Delaware| 1 replyI too received a vm yesterday and returned the call to see what this Civil and Federal suit was about. They asked me to verify that I was who I was with the last 4 digits of my social...and I did. I know it was dumb but they would not give me anything. They are Claims America at 2055C 349 Scenic Highway North, Snellville Georgia 30078 (or so they say) and referenced a case number, that I owed $4,253 that they are not a collection agency but that Investigator Vincent Skylar was working with Attorney Robert Goldstein and Chase Manhattan. I was being sued and leins on property I have or may possess in the future, garnish of wages and IRS inquiry if they serve me in the next 14 days and if we go to court it would be in the thousands and thousands of dollars but could settle right now. When I told him that this was all included in a bankruptsy back in 1990, he said that it didn't matter because I was paying small amounts at the time and that I wasn't in default and the Chase could opt out of the bankruptsy. (not) Vincent was very rude and throwing legal language as quick as they come and I kept slowing him down so I could write it down and when I told him that for all I knew he could be a fraudulent outfit, he really got irritated.
I then was transferred to the good guy, Settlement Director of Operations, Hans Gould at ext. 109. He calmed me down and said he had the authority to lower the amount to $812 but that I had to pay tonight by 8:30 and that I could even spread the payment over 4 months...Credit card or debit card would suffice. I told him I had to borrow the money from family and I would get back to him. I never did but reported it to the GA police, the DE police, my bank and the credit agencies.
When nothing googled for Claims America and all of this came up googling their phone number, I was relieved to know they are a fraud. thank you for your postings. Throughout the entire call though, I was terrified which is what they wanted. I hope they call back now because I have a few choice things to say to them now.- Caller: Claims America
