I wonder if they know about this website?  These people are really what you could call stupid.

Interesting to read the last posting. As this was the same "word game" played with me by a so called-Vincent Skyler. He was a jerk. He seems to be a power player that is for sure. I have not had any calls from Vincent Skyler since my lawyer friend contacted him. It freaked Vincent Skyler when my friend contacted him. Vincent did not know to to respond to lawyer talk. This time Vincent Skyler had fear given to him. I did contacted the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington D.C. this morning and I reported
this scam to them. They will investigate. I gave the OCC & the FTC & the Credit Card Agencies this site so they could read for themselves the big scam that is taking place with 1,000's of people-I would think. And I gave everyone I spoke with-Claims America's site: www.civilclaimsais.com
to see what they are trying to do to scam people of $1,000's of dollars. It is good we are all relating our stories on this site. Now someone should contact 20/20 or Dateline about our stories-so others who do not know about this site can be alerted.

I am so glad I found this site, I just received basically the same phone message as posted by all these people, for my step-son who I have had absolutely no contact with in over 15 years.  They said they were from "Claims America" and the woman who left the message was Jessica Vega, leaving a claim number, etc.  I really was stumped.  So I could not google Claims America, but the phone number brought me to this site.  I will not even attempt to try and pass the phone message on, and will not even worry about it anymore.  Creditors will try anything to get the "Statute Of Limitations" to reinstate.  Just never-ever admit to a debt, and watch the  Suze Orman Show. She has really good advice pertaining to stuff like this.
    Thanks everyone!

Same stories as above.  A barely understandable lady left a message on my phone for a someone I don't know (but with same last name).  I called and got the "rude" guy.  I asked several questions about who they are and why they were calling me.  Rude guy became very angy and hung up on me.  Several more calls/hang-ups got me to the "nice" guy.  He said he would take me off their list.  I think I'll call the Comptroller of Currency tomorrow too - can't hurt for more people to complain about these jerks.

I received a call (I am in Los Angeles, CA) from this number from a Ms. McDaniels giving her number and case number.  She said that an investigation is underway and that I am named a respondent.  I am glad to read the messages because she did not state the matter she was calling about.  I have excellent credit and no collections.  What a scam!  Thank God for Google and people who post messages about this sort of boloney.

So glad I found this site. Got a call from this number. Some woman named Mrs. or Ms. Gainer threatening me with some civil lawsuit states that she is working with the local county authorities on this "case." A case number was given too. At least I know I'm not the only one out there with this nonsense. And I live in PA also and these folks are in Georgia. I don't even know anyone in Georgia. Thank you people for this site.

    Called my cousin
This place must be trying to gather as much money as fast as they can.  Ms. McDainels called my cousin (how they ever got his number in connection with me is a mystery) and told him that there was an investigation and a suit was being filed against me (I am the named respondent).  I will followup with the above mentioned law enforcement agencies as well.

My dad from Wisconsin called me (I live in California)saying Claims America called saying there was a civil case being brought against me--They said it was brought on by a person named Maury Bradshaw and that I needed to call a Chelsie Sanders.  When I called the gentleman asked me to verify my information and gave me an address I lived at 7 years ago.  I said no...I don't live there.  Then he gave me my current address and I said yes...I do live there.  He then asked for my last four digits of my social security number.  I said no..I'm not giving you that information.. he said "meet me half way then and give me the last two and then said "you have to admit it would be pretty damn hard for someone to guess the rest" and I told him I wasn't giving him any part of my social security number.  He then asked me if I had an attorney...I said why would I have an attorney...I don't even know what this is about and he said I needed to get one and said "Good luck in court!"  I told him that any information he wanted to relay to me could be done through the mail.  I called back to get his name and he said it was Investigator Vincent Skyler.  He said Ma'am you don't need to call this company anymore...you need to call your attorney...Good Luck in Court!  He was such a jerk.  It's obviously a scam of some sort so everyone be careful and don't give any info regarding your Social Security number.

These guys are a piece of work. They called my sister looking for me and when I called them back, they told me I had a 15 year old debt with Citibank that they were taking me to civil court for theft of goods and services and malicious intent to defraud a bank. Same drill, they asked to verify the last 4 digits of my SSN and offered me a settlement if I paid in the next 24 hours or I could go to court, where I was required to have an attorney. (This was key, since they were trying to leverage my attorney costs against their quick settlement.) I told them I'd call them back and let them know. (Also interesting to note, they gave her all kinds of information about me, but never asked either one of us for a phone number to contact me.) In the mean time, I pulled my credit report and there is nothing on there. I called Citibank and they have no record of this, so I called back to Claims America to let Don Bradley know what I had found out. He didn't have any good reason for any of my arguments, but he did manage to get defensive and belligerent. I asked him for the account number of the card in question and to fax me a copy of the signature page with my signature he claimed to have, and he could not produce these--only saying his attorney had all the documents and his information was limited---however he did verify my ENTIRE SSN!! I asked for the attorney information and he said he couldn't release the name of the actual attorney or provide their number, but the firm was Murray Bradshaw & Associates with offices in NY and GA. I Googled them and found nothing while we were on the phone. I asked Mr. Bradley why a firm representing Citibank would not come up on Google. He told me to wait for them to subpoena me and I could see what they have against me in court. Knowing this is not the way that cases worked, I told Ed that most attorneys like to settle out of court and should be willing to show me what they have against me if I want to offer a settlement. Mr. Bradley said that HE had offered me a settlement and when I started asking how and where I would pay it, he said the settlement was withdrawn and he was letting the attorneys know that I was uncooperative and that I would be getting a subpoena. I let him know that his company has scams posted all similar to mine and that he could send his fake attorneys after me with their fake subpoenas. Before he hung up on me, he told me that the sheriff's department would be arriving shortly to arrest me (which I doubt, since my husband still holds a commission there and would know if this were truly about to happen).

Please don't fall for their scams. Above all, they are using some sort of credit history to obtain addresses and SSN information and legal threats to scare you into paying them money. My fear is that anyone that does fall for it--releasing further credit or bank information to them--will be taken for more than what they think they are settling for.

We immediately called Fraud Alert (800-525-6285) who told us that if we hadn't been contacted first in writing that this was not a legitimate claim. I also plan to contact all the departments listing in these postings and my local Sheriff's Department!

It is amazing to read all the reports written on Claims America. I would have assumed they would have been shut down at this point. I would have assumed the calls I made & the calls others have made to authorities would have put Claims America out of business and put those people in jail who are working there. I know I gave the authorities this website-"all" very glad to get this 800notes-site. So, I hope they are reading these reports we are writing. I hate thinking of those who lost money with Claims America. Everything Claims America has done to us is criminal.

    Why us
This same person has contacted my mother in California and my Step-Mother in Arizona, but has never contacted me personally. I live in Alabama. I can't file a complaint on behalf of my mother and/or Step-Mother, but I would ask anyone who reads this site if they have a lawyer friend who would like to open a class action law suit against this person (Company) based on Section 813 of the The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I would be willing to help cover filing costs if others were as well to help shut this person down and get a judgement against him. This person has violated almost all of the Fair Debt Collections Practices listed in Sections 804-809; 811-812. This information can be found at http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm
Specifically stating that when a debt collector calls someone other than the consumer then the following should apply:
    From Section 804.  Acquisition of location information  [15 USC 1692b] Any debt collector communicating with any person other than the consumer for the purpose of acquiring location information about the consumer shall --(1) identify himself, state that he is confirming or correcting location information concerning the consumer, and, only if expressly requested, identify his employer;(2) not state that such consumer owes any debt; (3) not communicate with any such person more than once unless requested to do so by such person or unless the debt collector reasonably believes that the earlier response of such person is erroneous or incomplete and that such person now has correct or complete location information;
As we all know this Section isn't being followed. My mother has been contacted 4 times and my Step-Mother has been contacted 5 times. The following is from Seciton 805: § 805.  Communication in connection with debt collection   [15 USC 1692c]
    (a) COMMUNICATION WITH THE CONSUMER GENERALLY.  Without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt -- (1) at any unusual time or place or a time or place known or which should be known to be inconvenient to the consumer. In the absence of knowledge of circumstances to the contrary, a debt collector shall assume that the convenient time for communicating with a consumer is after 8 o'clock antimeridian and before 9 o'clock postmeridian, local time at the consumer's location; (2) if the debt collector knows the consumer is represented by an attorney with respect to such debt and has knowledge of, or can readily ascertain, such attorney's name and address, unless the attorney fails to respond within a reasonable period of time to a communication from the debt collector or unless the attorney consents to direct communication with the consumer; or (3) at the consumer's place of employment if the debt collector knows or has reason to know that the consumer's employer prohibits the consumer from receiving such communication.
    (b) COMMUNICATION WITH THIRD PARTIES.  Except as provided in section 804, without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector, or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, or as reasonably necessary to effectuate a postjudgment judicial remedy, a debt collector may not communicate, in connection with the collection of any debt, with any person other than a consumer, his attorney, a consumer reporting agency if otherwise permitted by law, the creditor, the attorney of the creditor, or the attorney of the debt collector.
    (c) CEASING COMMUNICATION.  If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt, except -- (1) to advise the consumer that the debt collector's further efforts are being terminated; (2) to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor may invoke specified remedies which are ordinarily invoked by such debt collector or creditor; or (3) where applicable, to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor intends to invoke a specified remedy. If such notice from the consumer is made by mail, notification shall be complete upon receipt.
So right this guy (Company) and tell him to stop calling and I would get a receipt confirmation from the Post Office. Something we may need in our class action lawsuit.
Also, there have been several listings providing inaccurate information, so check out your state laws concerning Wage Garnishments and Civil Law Suits. I called my County Courthouse to see if I had outstanding lawsuits against me, because my Step-Mother was led to believe that I did and my County Courthouse stated that I didn't and if I did have one filed against me then I would have been served notice by a Sheriff. Another example is that the 7 year timeline doesn't start over just by contacting someone, it starts over when a payment and/or settlement has been reached.

These people just called my parents asking for my husband. They didn't leave any information or say what it is in regards to. After reading this I am realizing that someone bought his old records (he used to have some debt, all clear now) and is trying to contact him like, 10 years after the fact. What freaks me out is how they got his in-laws phone number. I don't want my parents to deal with some of the harrassment I've just read about here, so I immediately went to the above link and registered a complaint thru my folks phone number.
Sketchy stuff people, thank you so much for sharing your information. I think you just saved me and mine a lot of annoyance.

My fiance received a phone call from the same exact people but they didn't call him they contacted his aunt who he has no contact with and never lived with or used her address.  The guy who called is name Victor told him that he owes over $1000 dollars and that if he had've called them back six months ago that he would only have to pay them $100.  They told him that they were collection for this company called Mastercard Financial Group and that they had contacted the Sheriff in a county that he does not live to have him arrested if he does not pay this money.  He was also told that if he pays $133 a month for six months that he could have his debt cleared.  My fiance told the caller who was Victor that he has never owned a mastercard a day in his life and Victor told him that he would have to pay $6000 to go to court if he does not pay the settlement.  My fiance asked what was the mailing address to where he needed to send payment.  Victor would not give him a street number but did tell him to send it you CMC Recovery Services in Stone Mountain Ga.  Then he comes back a little while later and tells him to call the phone number and give them a credit card, debit card, paypal or check number information so that they could take it out of his account.  My fiance advised him that he would contact him on the date that the first payment is due and give him the info(NOT!!!!!).  When requesting information from Victor of the account that he has had since 1999 he was told that he didn't have that information and that he could get it when he goes to court.  Victor was also very hesitant when asked what was his name and extention.  About two ago a friend and called the number because they would not leave a company name when they called they just left a threatening message saying that he was going to be locked up if he did not contact them.  When we calle the number we asked another company out of Ohio and they guy who answered the phone told us that everyone from that company was out to lunch.  Hmmmmmm Something doesn't sound right about that.  Will be contacting all the companies and banks that need to be contacted.  Thanks for info.  Please keep posting more helpful informaiton.
